Update: Make sure you cancel or renegotiate before the price nearly doubles after 12 months. See chat transcript below.
To get this deal you need to use the voucher code MOVETOSIMO which will give a £3 discount at the checkout. If you don't have an EE PAYG SIM and feel guilty about using the code, buy an EE PAYG SIM from a pound shop.
On many EE deals, BT Sport is an additional £5 per month. The 24 months of BT Sport in this deal is worth £120. It is worth noting that you apparently can't Chromecast with the EE BT Sport package like you can with the BT Internet version.
On BT Mobile, max speed, still not as fast as this, is an extra £4.
The roaming including the US and Canada is great.
Apple Music saves you £60 on six months of Spotify, etc.
TCB is offering £35 which effectively reduces the cost to about £14 but will it pay out with the code? The amount of cashback from Quidco is unclear but they will match TCB at least. It is certainly worth a go.
If you want 20GB at lower speed (still the same speed as faster BT Mobile with the £4 surcharge) without the roaming in US/Canada and with just three months BT Sport, use this code with the 20GB package on the same page for £20.99. TCB is offering £50 cashback but again, there is doubt about whether it will pay out.
Cashback or not, these are very good deals.
For me the 12GB edged it.

If you have a query of this nature please contact customer services on 150 or 07953 966 250 from your EE handset.
Info: All agents are currently assisting other customers. Thank you for your patience.
Info: You are now chatting with Pearl.
Pearl: Thank you for contacting EE, UK's biggest, fastest and most reliable network. I am Pearl and how can I help you with your order?
Musical: Can you tell me what happens to the £19.99 SIMO 12GB when the 12 months are up? Does the price stay at £19.99?
Pearl: Hi Musical,
Pearl: I'd be happy to help you with that
Pearl: Once the 12 months contract ends the monthly charge will go back to it's original price of £32.99 a month. You will have the option to upgrade, downgrade or cancel the contract anytime by serving 30 days cancellation period.
Musical: It doesn't say that ANYWHERE on the website, does it?
Pearl: I understand but the discount is only for 12 months contract term.
Musical: But it doesn't say it is a discount and doesn't say the price will increase at 12 months, does it?
Musical: I am going to report EE to Trading Standards and OFCOM.
Musical: How can you put up prices to a price you haven't declared?
Musical: Please can you log this as a formal complaint?
Musical: And pass on to a senior manager.
Pearl: I understand but as per our information the charges go back to it's original charge once the contract ends. You can certainly check that by contacting our customer service team on 07953 966 250 through an alternate number or land line.
Musical: The original charge is not declared.
Pearl: Please give me a moment while I find this information for you
Musical: It doesn't say £32.99 reduced to £19.99, does it?
Musical: Anywhere?
Musical: So, how would anybody know?
Musical: It is illegal.
Musical: Please confirm that you are putting in a complaint and escalating via managers.
Musical: The implication is that you are getting 12GB of data on the 3GB tariff price of £19.99.
Musical: I stress again, not declaring the price is £32.99 is illegal.
Musical: I found out by asking you.
Pearl: I understand, please allow me a moment to check that for you.
Musical: Get somebody to email me and send a copy of this transcript to [email protected]
Musical: You can go through the entire purchasing process and be unaware the price will nearly double at 12 months.
Musical: That's illegal.
Musical: And dishonest.
Musical: I am going to inform Trading Standards and OFCOM.
Musical: Might go to the media too.
Musical: Disgusting, frankly.
Pearl: Thank you for your patience, Musical. In the checkout step it states the original price of the SIM as ''12M SIM 4GEE 20GB £36.99" and under monthly charge it gives the charge due to offer as £23.99.
Pearl: I understand it is not stated on the website that the charge goes back to it's original price after discount, I shall escalate this to my Superior.
Musical: Make sure they email me. Totally misleading.
Musical: So, can the £32.99 be avoided? Do you have to give 30 days notice?
Musical: Can you get a PAC in month 12?
Pearl: We do not have the authorization to emails as a part of live chat term. I'd recommend you to get in touch with our customer service team on 07953 966 250 for any complains and I shall also escalate this to my Superior and technical team.
Musical: But you can give your superior my email address, can you?
Musical: I am logging this chat transcript in any case.
Pearl: You would be charged the remaining months contract if you wish to cancel a 12 months contract early, once the contract is cancelled or ended after 12 months, you can get a PAC code to keep your number.
Musical: No, how do I cancel at the end of the 12 month contract with a PAC so I never pay the £32.99? Does that make sense?
Musical: Or would I have to pay a month at £32.99?
Pearl: Sure, you can serve the 30 days cancellation period on 11th month of your contract so it would be cancelled once the 12th month ends. Then you can get PAC code to keep the number.
Musical: thanks.
Pearl: You're welcome!
Musical: Make sure you pass on my email address to your superior.
Musical: Must be bad to work for a dishonest firm.

Received the first bill today, a couple of days after getting this deal and receiving the SIM. Stated £19.99 and so I spent a good half an hour on the phone and needed to email them a printout of the checkout confirmation before they said that they applied the discount. I still cannot understand how they could make this mistake after all the cofirmations stating a monthly payment of 16.99 including VAT.

So existing contract (presumably?) getting a special retentions deal. Yeah I can see why you'd vote this deal (for new customers) cold, makes perfect sense.

Can someone explain the EE speeds on different plans? Or is it just marketing talk?
Some plans are the "fastest EE speeds". Others are "up to 60mbps". Does/Can EE cap speeds at an individual account level?

It didn't for me. I was on a SIMO plan that ran out last month. I had called on June 1st to move to PAYG because the price went up to something stupid. I called up today to see if they would switch me to this and they flat out said no, that this was only for people already on PAYG... seems silly especially given I'll be on PAYG by July 1st, the day after this deal expires lol- 30 day notice and all that.
Nonetheless was able to order the deal anyway through the website, will end up with a new phone number but I don't really mind, just a bit daft on EE's part.

5 Jun 17#51
I got a phone call from EE last week telling me that my two business sim only lines were up for renewal and they offered unlimited minutes and texts and 8gb for £9+VAT and 20gb for £13+VAT which also included BT Sport and EU roaming (although roaming will be added to all tariffs from 15th June anyway).
It's hard to get decent deals on business tariffs and these seem inline with the best of the personal tariffs so I was impressed at being offered this without asking and took them up on it.
As for BT Sport, it's a bit disappointing as the only thing of interest to me on there is the MotoGP and that is available to watch live when it's on but it's not on catchup and I'm rarely available to watch it live.
You can't watch the catch up content via the website with EE's BT Sport addon.
You can only watch via the BT Sport app and I didn't think you could cast it to another screen however you can download the Windows 10 app and watch live TV on a PC hooked to an external screen.

I am with 3, get 30gb and unlimited texts and 600 minutes for £16 and partner gets 8gb data and unlimited texts and minutes for £12 - This seems a good deal, be aware partner was on ee before and moved due to cost of additional data - think I was paying £5 for 4gb extra with 3 - ee are expensive at 500mb a time and have to be used in 24hrs not the remainder of the month like 3. That said 12gb no doubt is enough for most so it should not be an issue.

I haven't received my EE SIM yet but found Vodafone a huge improvement over Three when abroad. Three was unusable, like a 56k modem.
There is a very useful thread here which confirms roaming speeds are decent. This may change now that networks are forced to provide roaming in Europe but the networks and tariffs with large numbers of business users will have to offer a decent service.

Opening post

Today is opposite day right?
I guess those people that got the T-Mobile 12 month free mobile phone deal about 3 years ago are also voting this cold.
Some plans are the "fastest EE speeds". Others are "up to 60mbps". Does/Can EE cap speeds at an individual account level?
When I was on EE PAYG I'd sometimes get 60/70/80 down.
Note: This offer is only available to existing pay as you go customers who have been with us for three months or more.
(I'm sure it didn't say that earlier)
Nonetheless was able to order the deal anyway through the website, will end up with a new phone number but I don't really mind, just a bit daft on EE's part.

Info: Welcome to EE. A Sales Advisor will be with you shortly. Please note they do not have access to existing customer details and cannot process upgrades or queries related to an existing EE account.

There is a very useful thread here which confirms roaming speeds are decent. This may change now that networks are forced to provide roaming in Europe but the networks and tariffs with large numbers of business users will have to offer a decent service.
