In her first adventure, Lara Croft was forged into a true survivor, but she glimpsed a deeper, secret world. In the next chapter of her journey, Lara must use her survival skills and wits, learn to trust new friends, and ultimately accept her destiny as the Tomb Raider. Rise of the Tomb Raider builds upon the formula that made Tomb Raider a success, and features the return of Camilla Luddington as Lara Croft. Luddington will take character performance to new heights as Lara pushes herself beyond human limits and is confronted with what it means to become a hero. Once again, Crystal Dynamics is proud to have the award-winning author Rhianna Pratchett as a key member of the writing team, helping craft a story that delves into Lara's inner turmoil and motivations in this critical second act of her journey.

I'm wondering if anyone can help me here. I bought the original Tomb Raider in 2014 and sold it before it was available on Games With Gold in 2015. I'd had a few goes but realised I needed time to play even the first one, which I now have. It is installed. I try to launch the game and it says "your xbox live subscription may have expired or your EA Access". It then gives me 3 options, one of them is to manage my subscriptions. I am a live member up until 2019 and my EA Access is good until November (being a Square Enix game, I don't see why EA Access has anything to do with this). I uninstalled it last night then re-installed it, which must mean that I own the game (I don't let any Games with Gold go, even if I don't immediately install them). I spoke to Microsoft and after a really long and boring chat on the net they said that I never owned the game. I asked them how then could I have installed it and re-installed it the night before. Anyway, I got fed up with waiting to speak to another idiot so I hung up the chat.
What I don't understand is how The Rise Of The Tomb Raider is always £9.99 or less yet Tomb Raider the Definitive Edition is nearly twice the price. It doesn't make sense. I now have time to play both and I have the 2nd one but would rather play the first one beforehand. Thanks guys.

If you're not in a rush mate, I'd probably wait. The first one (Definitive Edition) quite often drops to £6.00 on the Xbox Store [StoreParser] (even as low as £4.80). That said, the previous sale was around 4-6 weeks ago for it. Xbox do love to churn out the same old deals in their weekly sales, so we could well see it again soon at this price.
Edit: I totally read your comment wrong. Don't ask me how. I have no idea

I think you've answered your own question. You only ever owned a disc copy. The moment you sold that, you no longer held the licence to it on your account, even if you didn't uninstall.
When it then hit GWG did you "purchase" it or did you just assume that it would work further down the line as you had installed from disc?
You have to actually make the GWG purchase for it to be registered to your account, so MS probably right with what they're saying.
