I'm wondering if anyone can help me here. I bought the original Tomb Raider in 2014 and sold it before it was available on Games With Gold in 2015. I'd had a few goes but realised I needed time to play even the first one, which I now have. It is installed. I try to launch the game and it says "your xbox live subscription may have expired or your EA Access". It then gives me 3 options, one of them is to manage my subscriptions. I am a live member up until 2019 and my EA Access is good until November (being a Square Enix game, I don't see why EA Access has anything to do with this). I uninstalled it last night then re-installed it, which must mean that I own the game (I don't let any Games with Gold go, even if I don't immediately install them). I spoke to Microsoft and after a really long and boring chat on the net they said that I never owned the game. I asked them how then could I have installed it and re-installed it the night before. Anyway, I got fed up with waiting to speak to another idiot so I hung up the chat.

What I don't understand is how The Rise Of The Tomb Raider is always £9.99 or less yet Tomb Raider the Definitive Edition is nearly twice the price. It doesn't make sense. I now have time to play both and I have the 2nd one but would rather play the first one beforehand. Thanks guys.

Yeah I get what you're saying. I've just come back from 3 months in Thailand and I can't rely on my nephew to "buy" the free games. I logged into the xbox store twice a month and have Project Cars etc. If I'd not have done it myself I would have lost 3 months worth of games.

My test for whether I did purchase it as a GWG was uninstalling it and then installing it again last night. It installed but would not play. The message threw me off aswell "you need an active Microsoft Xbox Live subscription or an active EA Access subscription to play this game". It doesn't seem like the right message. If it told me I had to own the game or to put the disc in then I would totally understand but the message didn't correlate to the problem. I can never remember missing GWG and I'm in Thailand a lot. I was there in September 2015 and I have a funny feeling that is the month that Tomb Raider was on GWG. I still feel that the message is the wrong message for the problem though.

Smyths don't always change prices on the cases. Just lazy workers.

There deals are nationwide and will be £5 everywhere.

Got Arkham Knight other week for £4 when it was labelled £14.99 so don't worry if you see the higher price.

Just have them scan it and it will show up with correct price and if it doesn't, you can show them the item on their website as proof on what the price should be but I assure you, you will not need to do the latter if it is genuinely the lower price as advertised online.

As a heads up, Hull weren't showing stock when I posted this. I popped in Saturday and they had one on the shelf.
