I would recommend paying a little bit more and getting the slim or E console.
I turned on my Halo 3 green console the other day. The thing sounded like a jack hammer. I traded the console and wifi dongle and got £50 trade in a cex.
4gb E was £42
I went for the 500gb E which was 62
Personally I thought this was a good move.
Good deal here but console is noisy and more prone to the red ring of death.

CEX sell secondhand XBox 360 Consoles, e.g. a 120GB Elite is £45 (+£2.50 P&P).
