Just thought I'd come back and let you know my 360 arrived, it's the HDMI model too! Very clean, but boy did I forget how noisy these things are!
I haven't tried it online yet, hopefully there won't be any issues there. Thanks again OP!

Thanks for the reply. Is there a way to run a router to pick or receive a wireless signal through a VPN which could then output through the routers Ethernet ports? Tia

Yes it connects to wireless. Then you use the ethernet port to connect device that is not wireless. I used it upstairs instead of bridging or sharing the Internet with my pc with Windows. I guess you can use a switch. I have powerlines to connect my switch near my TV. Run Sky, Smart TV, PS4 and XB1S all with Ethernet with one 5 port tp link switch. Hope this helps to answer. And sorry for the delay. this is the switch I paid about 8 quid from Amazon 3/4 years ago.
How does this connect? Does it take a wireless signal and convert it to an ethernet wired connection? If so, just one connection? Could this be then connected to a switch for more connections? Thanks

Still got a brand new one of these. Officially the only one with no roaches. Unless it has an evil twin in Canada I'm not aware of.

There are loads of classic games you can pick up cheap for the x360, that you can't play on the Xbox one.

To cut down on noise install the game to the HD. This avoids much noise of the DVD whirring whilst playing.

I also have 1 ridiculously loud old Xbox 369, has anyone had any luck replacing the fan for a quiet one? Does make the console close to unplayable unless you have headphones on or turned up very loud!!!

Bought the Xbox 360 4GB slim console from Music Magpie and didn't come with a controller so unless specified assume not! I did email them and they sent me a controller free of charge since I said it's ridiculous to send a console without a controller
Cheap way to get sky on your TV though

Not sure which dictionary you're using, but the Xbox 360 is certainly obsolete. Metacritic says that only one new game has been released for it this year. It's been rendered obsolete by the Xbox One.

Great deal but head to CEX, I got an Xbox 360 S for £45 with 24 month warranty. Only had a 4gb hard drive but swapped it out for a 250gb. Comes with wifi built in and 1 controller - hella lot quieter too!

If this is what you want then great, but I bought a 360 E 250gb for £50 from cex a while back with 2 year warranty. I'm not sure if they are still available at that price but it's worth £20 more imo.

Yes, although you do get 'free' games every month.
You can get it from somewhere like cdkeys to save a few quid.

if it aint a jasper motherboard or a 360 slim don't bother i.e 150 watt power needed on back of console as your only get RRoD but heat added.
EDIT:I see it has magpies 1 year warranty so that's okay then worth a punt for £30.
Hopefully it comes with PSU and a controller else the price goes up further.

Who pays for the shipping if the unit fails? Not exactly cheap to ship these if the customer has to pay.

I would recommend paying a little bit more and getting the slim or E console.
I turned on my Halo 3 green console the other day. The thing sounded like a jack hammer. I traded the console and wifi dongle and got £50 trade in a cex.
4gb E was £42
I went for the 500gb E which was 62
Personally I thought this was a good move.
Good deal here but console is noisy and more prone to the red ring of death.

No but you can use an ethernet cable. and it has 1 year warranty so play it alot in the first year and if it RROD then your covered
Opening post
Now out of stock. Music Magpie's also sells other refurbished XBox 360 consoles, so a comparable deal may pop up again at some point.
Game's secondhand XBoxes are from £45 currently
CEX sell secondhand XBox 360 Consoles, e.g. a 120GB Elite is £45 (+£2.50 P&P).

Other extenders are available, e.g.:
http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/edimax-ew-7438rpn-mini-n300-smart-wireless-range-extender-5-b-m-2620246
You could also go for a powerline adapter to extend it in a wired manner (some adapters have pass-through for the power, and some have two ethernet sockets):
