Thats how NAD describe the product, im sure the digital circuit only relates to the USB output tho. Otherwise its a normal phono stage.

This kind of pre-amp will boost the signal coming from a record player, so that it plays correctly on a device that doesnt have a phono input, like powered speakers or an AV receiver.
