Is not really that hard to believe. I personally don't take my kids out during term time but it's easy to see why ppl do and let's be honest as they grow up what are they going to look back on fondly, a couple of days of school or time spent with their family. Probably does them more good than harm.

Why?
My kids have been taken out of school every year since they started.. We live in wales and its perfectly legal for the school to autorise 10 days holiday, we have children with autism and special needs term time holidays allow for a quiter and more controlled experince, but regardless
My Eldest is now predicted to acheive All B's & A's and just got an A in Maths GCSE, My 2nd youngest just got the highest position in the school for his maths and top five for English.
Show me evidence that taking kids on holidays during term time affects them academically? The holidays we spend together are fun AND educational..
Last year we did Montreuil-aux-Lions, we did Disneyland, and learnt all about the Battle of Somme, The geography of the area, did some history of Paris and took in the culture..
This year we are going to blackpool (Im from up north originally) we will visit the pleasure beach, and we will visit the science and industry museums of Manchester & Liverpool too.
I think its very arrogant to assume people holiday sitting around a pool all day and couldnt care less for their kids education I think you will find those are minority of people who think like that (maybe it something you see in yourself?), but even if they do so what, what business is it of yours?

Well if you lived a area of abject poverty enclosed by council houses and no open countryside nearby and a £90 deal come up, you would too be booking, don't judge others based on your situation base it on theirs and offer advice from experience if you can.

It's not necessarily families taking their children out of school. Both my children are just under school age and we have been packing in as many UK and abroad holidays as we can until September arrives.

All the cheaper prices are during school term times,Can't believe parents take their kids off school to go to these.

They only hurt themselves as Haven, Butlins dont do half the activities or shows in term time as the numbers of bookings are obviously well down

I go in term time, I pay the fine for taking kids out of school, and still be about 50% better off saving than paying the half term prices!!

Yeah I agree, people like you shouldn't take your kids out of term. Would hate to see your miserable face whilst on holiday.

If anyone has been to a Haven resort in France and is thinking of visiting one in U.K. DONT DO IT!
Made this mistake a few years ago and couldn't believe the difference in standards.....the English one was a dirty campsite full of loud drunkards. Never again
