First of all, good price for a wireless inkjet! Only downside is ink cost but supports HP Instant Ink & includes 2 months free! Good price - hopefully helps a student or someone who does a bit of printing looking for a good cheap printer without having to deal with wires or other scanners etc...
You can also use code 'FREEINK' for an extra month's of HP Instant Ink. If you enter referral code 'gzzl8' when you register for HP Instant Ink you may get another month of ink.

Heat as it's relatively cheap for a printer. I'm still pondering over laser v inkjet and cannot decide.....

LASER every time, nothing worse than wanting to print something out and discover your print heads are clogged up because you haven't used your printer in a month...
Laser printers also print out quicker, I use several technologies at home (including Dye sub & transfer). I do have an inkjet, although it gets more use as a scanner these days...
I figured if I really wanted to print out a picture I could use an online service (I must take advantage of the "free" Virgin Media/Snapfish deal!) or visit my local stores (Boots are best as they use photographic transfer)
Heat added btw OP!

I bought an Epson L300 in the Far East about 3 years ago. The ink reservoirs are still half full. No £30 black £35 colour cartridges here. Two months ink huh. After that the cartridges will cost you an arm and a leg. Printer ink is one of the most expensive commodities on the planet. The EU bottled out of taking on the big manufacturers about this. Roll on Brexit and lets hope the UK is flooded with Epson L300s. These will save you hundreds especially if you have school age children

Totally agree ,something wrong when replacement ink costs more than the printer.Wasnt there a 12 month free ink deal not long ago for Hp deskjet.

So this is still an issue for inkjets? I've had a couple of dell laser printers for the last 10 years, but have been on the lookout for a replacement. I'd kind of hoped they had solved the whole constant cleaning issue.
Got it down to an epson workforce (cheap ink) or a brother laser (cheap toner).

Just a point of note:- Equivalent Epson EcoTank printer was on sale here for £299. Epson seem to have removed this from sale as it was probably doing them out of business. My Epson L300 EcoTank cost me approximately £40 in Kuala Lumpur. They dont stand for being ripped off out there. If youve ever visited you may have seen their ingenious ink delivery systems in department stores there for about £10. I did give it a try on a Canon but it requires drilling holes etc so my results were half baked. Moral of the story is that they wont stand for these over inflated ink prices out there ....so why should we.

HP just want to track everything you print, one of the conditions of their ink system is you must be connected to the internet so they can monitor you and if you go over the monthly allowance of printed pages then they charge you for it even though you have ink still in the cartidges.
I signed up for the instant ink months ago and have only recieved one set of cartidges,is it because I don't print a lot and they are not getting my money fast enough.
First decent printer that comes up where the Company does not rob you through ink usage and my HP printer is in the bin.

I believe the cartridges they send have a higher ink capacity, to prevent them from having to send them out too often. It's the number of pages allowed to be printed you are paying for, not the amount of ink or number of cartridges. That's also why you need to be connected to the internet, for them to monitor it.
I bought a similar printer around a year ago and decided not to use the instant ink. I've bought 2 cartridges since, so have saved money by not joining - although it depends entirely on your useage.

I must be getting old. We used to buy something and it was yours until you wanted to buy a new add on or an upgrade. Everything now seems to be a monthly subscription. Software, printer ink, Netflix etc, Amazon prime, Apple Music, Spotify. Can't we just pay once and enjoy anymore. Moan over. Back to my Horlicks

Ahh, the joys of 'Two Part Pricing'
The same model is used with razors, video consoles, and pod style coffee machines, where the manufacturer loses money on the item, but makes up for it in sales of consumables.
It is quite annoying, because you feel the pain when buying the consumable, long after you benefited from buying the original item.
