I have a life and 2 very young kids, we have no problem using Alexa. Perhaps the problem is elsewhere

Fantastic price. I absolutely love mine. Fortunately, Alexa doesn't listen to my kids. I'm not sure if it's the chav acccent, the pre-school speech or if she just chooses to ignore them, but she works as intended for me

lol you must really have an axe to grind with Alexa. You pop up with this same comment on every thread. Mine works beautifully with a house full of very noisy children and animals.

Awful bits of kit I had and took back if you have a noisy house eg kids running about the unit struggles to pick up your voice making the whole idea of it pointless you have been warned!

Yes your right a house full of noisy kids does make it hard to control.
In saying that that it makes it hard to think or for anyone to hear me. Should I return the kids to get back to normality? Either that or recognise there is no perfect solution for every occasion.
We have a Dot in the kitchen. Handy for getting lights on while working with messy food covered hands or getting some tunes on.

Sounds like an awful house, not sure why you would blame Alexa for that?

Yes their beam-forming mic technology is very, very good.
However, for a bit more of a challenge, I built one out of a Raspberry Pi and it works perfectly (though of course the USB mic I got for a fiver online is nowhere near as sensitive).
Certainly a good price for what this offers and in comparison with prices elsewhere, though I feel it will be down to the £75 mark within the next few months as the early adopters peter out.

Good to see the price is finally coming down. Still think the ideal price should be £99.99 and the Echo Dot £35.00

Seems like a ok deal for me at 99.99 if they add the ability to use it for just bluetooth
