Just remember folks, most of mainland China will then be able to log into the camera IP address and admire your interior design, watch tv with you etc. Please do not place this camera in the bedroom, bathroom or anywhere else your tackle or spotty bum can be seen , unless you wish to become a YouTube star.
If anyone is interested in getting this - you can get it on Banggood for £17.21. Use the link below to add the camera to the cart and apply voucher "20xiaofang". Remember to login into your Banggood account first. If anyone is interested into posting this as a separate deal, feel free to do so, no credits required.
It is more likely that the user / installer has little or poor understanding of security.

I'm no network expert but I'm fairly sure all these cheap camera's have poor IP address security, Any savvy kid could log in. Look at all the fuss over Samsung TVs watching you recently. Google it, see what you find.

For the truly paranoid, if it's not hard wired and it's connected to the internet, however remotely, it's not really secure.

I got this last time and for the price it's quite impressive. Fairly easy to set up after watching Youtube..... some instructions and spoken out from camera and in Chinese but if i can do it after 10 mins i think almost anyone can... Great for keeping an eye on the dog when your at work or nipping out to the shops.

remember it won't record to HDD etc and you have to change your router security to wpa1 as it can't use wpa2
once I'd changed that on my ee router then it setup fine. Not sure how someone can see my camera from China. would they not need to hack my router 1st at least?

I have my router on WPA2 and my camera is working fine on it and has been since January.

Downloaded the MiHome app but couldn't get this to work for love or money. Took it to someone more technically savvy than me and they failed also. Not in the least worried about someone from China spying on me if only the blinking thing would work.

Took me a good while to work it out. But set the mi home app location to China. Add device. Pick the one that looks like a camera. You will then get a qr code on your screen. Show that to the camera close at first, then move away slowly. Once the camera registers the qr code, you'll get a different Chinese saying. "kung pow Hong poo" or something like that she says. Then it will search and pair. Keep pressing find/pair until it pair's. (mine took 7 or 8 tries)
