Thiis should be in misc as its a heads up not a deal, however, where does it say anything about mobile charges going up? Bet my £1 deal stays the same  despite some fool on here telling everyone they were going up about 6 months ago

This is the third mid contract price hike for me. It seems very person dependant as to whether they give a monkeys. For those that want to switch but keep the service John Lewis broadband is £20 a month with £30 quidco and is run by Plusnet.

Nationalise the whole gravy train. Give every man, woman and child 1 gigabit fiber straight to their home, whether they want it or not. Cheaper for all.

When you get the email notifying you there should be this section in the email
We hope you’re happy with your products and services but if you do decide to leave because of these changes, we won’t apply any early termination charges. All we ask is that you call us to tell us within 30 days of getting this email and give us 14 days’ notice.

Most probably as soon as you tell them you want to leave they will either credit your account with an amount equal to the increase or agree to keep your price plan the same until the end of the term. They bank on customers saying oh its only £1 extra per month so can't be bothered to complain or better still not reading the email until after the 30 day notice is up by then its too late to do anything because of the termination charges.

Just joined plusnet yesterday, I paid for line rental saver, not sure if they will add £1 per month to my bill when price increases but it will still be much cheaper than BT which treat existing customers really poorly. Loyal customers are second class citizens.
Shame quidco hasnt tracked though.

I've been with plusnet for years on the line rental saver, when it goes up all that happens is you pay more next year.
They're also very good at lowering if you haggle. Was on £17.99pm standard, phoned them and got £11.99pm fibre. This kind of thing is useful leverage (though maybe not for you as you've just joined).
Sadly the actual broadband itself has gone downhill and is now perpetually patchy, probably due to their overlords at BT.

Word of warning if you pay up front for line rental saver and plusnet put their prices up mid term yes you can leave but they will not refund your money! That's why this year we didn't go for that.

Thanks, nice to know, my plusnet hasnt kicked in yet, only rang bt to cancel contract yesterday, didnt know there was a 30 day cancellation period, thought I could cancel when my contract expires in a few days.
Will probably get my mobile contracts with plusnet as well, will move from bt mobile asap, much better deal than bt were offering.

I've searched HUKD and can't find how you got £1 a month mobile! Must have missed it. Care to share? was it a retention?

I did the same as you.
Signed up to plusnet from BT. BT will send you an SMS about services being transferred. Call the number in the text with a query about transfer or something. Gets you straight through to retentions.
Offered me free Infinity 2 and BT sport's for 24 months.
