Arrived today and very happy, nice and light with great clear screen
(I looked at this a few weeks ago at £521 with the 10% off and 2 year warranty, bought a Dell instead but that's going back.) This is much better.

I have seen too many dead HPs to ever buy one.

What do you think of the screen? Good viewing angles?

Great from all angles, the dell was a 15" and unless you were right in front you could not view it

Do they have it on display? I was going to make the plunge on the HP Omen which has incredible specs for the price but a pee-poor screen

The current Dell 15" 1366x768 screens have a terrible reputation. Massive shame as older ones were pretty decent.

Apologies , I don't know enough about laptops to recommend any but the Dell Inspiron 15 5000 looks good . My main criteria for a laptop is full HD screen and SSD. I do have an upper price limit of 800 pounds so I'm thinking get this or wait for more Easter bargains.
John Lewis is always a plus for me to buy from and I'll try n pop in tomorrow to have a look.
Edit, tbh if it's a full HD, you're not really going to be disappointed unless you need a really acute viewing angle on the screen .

Probably worth adding that it has a 3 year guarantee, as that is really good at this price and usually only on business class machines. Also HP just don't seem to know how to put a laptop together and have it last much more than a year :stuck_out_tongue:

I agree. I've had a few HPs before and they are all the bluming same. Poorly built, over heat, heavy and cumbersome.

And the £29.95 HP ultrabook laptop sleeve can be added for free (first bundle below product description) :innocent:
