Does anyone own both the Amazon Echo AND the Google Home? I wonder what it would be like to live the both ecosystems in the same environment. Any conflicts?

I have an Echo Dot and its rubbish, returning it this evening. It doesnt respond very well and its always off target even at close proximity.

There shouldn't be any conflicts since the key words are different.
If you have music tied to either Amazon or Google then you may want to choose based on that since you can't use the other's music service.
Amazon allows you to play your uploaded music easily. Google currently requires you to put it into a playlist first and then use the playlist.
If you have Amazon prime then you have access to lots of music, this is separate to their Amazon music subscription service.
I only have two echo dots at the mo and they work well. The issues with listening correctly generally only occurs when there is other loud noise around.
From reviews the echo has more support for smart home devices at the moment.

I've got both. Work seamless, no conflicts at all. You can switch something on by Alexa and switch off by GH. Alexa appears as more human, (a bit of a soul? ) while GH is like a robot - pure computer.
Alexa sometimes can't recognize words, however GH even if understood words - can't find the answer.
For now I prefer Alexa (especially dots) but believe that GH will get to the competitor level some point.

I have 2 Amazon Echos, a dot and a full sized one, I have also had a google home for about 8 months having imported one from the USA.
The both have their plus points and bad points .
Firstly the google home can not play music via Bluetooth from your phone, Echo can.
Google home can change the colour of my hue lights, echo can not. ( echo can change brightness)
I find it easier to say Alexa than Ok Google. And I sometimes find myself saying the wrong key word to the wrong device.
Google home has more answers than echo.
Apart from that they do basically the same thing. Both of then sound too base heavy to be used as a quality Bluetooth speaker ( google home has no Bluetooth) . The echo dot sounds very tinny but does have a 3.5 Mum output jack to connect to an amplifier etc and the output sound is excellent.
I have tried to get them to talk to each other without success and they both very polite about each other's products.

Nobody is mentioning the free 3 month's Google Play Music. Isn't that worth around £30, too? Or is that standard with the Home?
