Sold a few high value items on eBay using the £1 offer, never again...

In that situation I would probably make the delivery option for the item "Free collection in person". Then, in the item description, say that you might be able to arrange delivery to their address, if they contact you in advance with their postcode.
That way, if the buyer makes the purchase yet is outside your delivery/collection range, it's definitely their own fault.
'You're not eligible for this promotional offer because your seller standing is Below Standard.'
Anybody have some advice for me? Sold a couple of large items with delivery specific rules, asked buyers to message with postcode before purchasing and they've just purchased and I couldn't fulfil delivery and so I've marked item as out of stock.

My advice would be to use an alternative sites such as Gumtree or Facebook to sell big items. Granted it takes longer but I can't stand being trapped by paypal only transactions... I remember I tried to sell my iPad pro a few months back and ebay/paypal wouldn't release the funds until I had sent the iPad... that to me does not sound like a fair deal and is completely biased in the buyers favour. Also the fact they can dispute after 6 months does not appeal to me in the slightest when it comes to high ticket items, for me it can only be cash/cheque

Contact Ebay and tell them that.

With things like that never mark them as your fault, cancel the sale via the buyer asked to cancel.

No out of stock affects your standards. Mark as issue with buyer address then it doesn't go against you

I hate to give obvious advice but you just have to keep selling and get good feedback to bring your seller rating up, i was in your position and that's what i did.

manage to save £213 from last week pay £1 FVF offer. this is not a bad deal if someone in a hurry to sell. Otherwise wait another 1-2 weeks and £1 FVF is back.
