Yeah I know but a 5KG+ item delivered for free. It would cost me £1.59 to get to Tesco and back!

Tap water does a lot of jobs. Topping up a car battery isn't one of them, though this task is less common these days.

My iron disagrees

My iron has needed treating with a descaler or vinegar a lot over the last few months so to avoid having to replace a £150 iron I might start using this in it. I only iron work shirts so wouldn't get through a lot.

The way a dehumidifier works is not that different from actual distillation, as both have final results of evaporated and subsequently condensed water. However, the heavy metals in the dehumidifier are always present, and any unsterilised environment (such as the tank) serves as an open environment for microbes. Water collected from a dehumidifier is known as "gray water." This kind of water is not recommended for human or animal consumption, but it is deemed safe for other uses, such as watering plants.
