This is an insane deal. True, the controllers RRP'd at a ridiculous £189, but considering the sensor is £59 alone and you get that inside the touch controller box, the controllers are only £40 on top.
Robo Recall is also free for all Oculus Touch owners, worth £22.99. Download from the Oculus Store :-)

Just read on GS they're knocking $200 off so this will be the new price. At this price point they won't be making any money on the hardware and it seems more of a last ditch attempt to drive up the numbers.
However given recent news this might not be the best investment you could make. If Zenimax pursue them further they could be pulled completely. All if and buts i know, but if its enough to rattle the 3rd party devs into jumping ships then effectively it will be dead in the water.
As much as i'd love to see a proper implementation of VR this was never going to be it. Hopefully its legacy will be the spark it created that will eventually get us there.

not very funny, only 3 hours ago I just ordered my other half this same set from amazon for £688.
Its already been dispatched, does anyone know how long this deal lasts so can arrange to return amazon order for refund

This is probably the new price... wouldn't be surprised if Amazon drops their price too over the next 24 hours!

Might be quicker if you refused delivery.

Go into order details, there should still be a 'request refund' button? Amazon has always honoured that whenever I clicked it and refused delivery at the door

ive had friends who have called Amazon customer service and wangled a refund of the difference for stuff like this. since you are well within your rights to return it for a full refund, they often would rather refund a small amount to save losing the entire sale.

Contact support, tell them to cancel shipment, its possible you wont get it but if you do tell the delivery to return it
I did this about last week when i ordered the wrong monitor, they gave a me a refund straight away, if you accept it they will charge you

Made me laugh.
It's very likely a permanent price drop anyway. So it will cost you a bit of messing about having to return to reorder but you will save.

That's good to know on new price, but from past comments on here doubt they will refund the difference

any idea on whether the HTC vive will come down as that was supposed the better overall option but at almost £100 more

The Rift is better screen wise, the Touch controllers are also more versatile and they have quite a few store exclusives. The only real problem with it s you need to buy a third camera for proper 360 tracking.
That said however PSVR is better than both these, it just has two major flaws and that's the motion controllers suck and it's on the PS4 so the games look like crap. The headset however is the most comfortable and you don't have as much screen door effect because the screen is more pixel dense.

Is the AMD 480 powerful enough? I'm just hoping AMD release something more powerful at some point, I've had several bad Nvidia experiences one the years, I'm giving them no more chances.

Just in case you never got an answer for this, yes a 480 is the recommended spec for the Rift.

well amazon chat not as good as they were, not had to deal with Customer Services for a while but even though they acknowledge prices will be reduced shortly in line with RRP, the item only just marked as On the Way this evening, even if prices drops to new price in next few hours they refuse to refund the difference.
But said they will arrange to have item collected and issue refund upon receipt of returns. Not sure what business practices they use but the extra cost to deliver, then additional cost to collect and return it seems ridiculous all that extra handling instead of a simple refund of the difference

Amazon have always refunded thier price drops within a set number of days from date of purchase. Has this changed recently?

You're lucky they're doing that - prices fluctuate and someone has to be the last one to buy it a higher price

I feel personally sorry for anyone who's bought the touch controllers AT ALL. They've only been out 3 months and already have a half price reduction
