Yep very tempting indeed! Looking for a upgrade from a original iPad Air. This the one or shall I hang on?

i have this tablet and made the jump from an iPad mini 2. All i can say is it is excellent. Performance is good but i do find it reboots itself every so often. The only bad thing with this is whether it is going to get 7.0.

it's payday today and my wallet is twitching... Been looking for a good spec 9-10 inch tablet with a good quality screen as a comics reader. we'll see tomorrow morning

Yeah, I bought mine primarily as an e-reader. The size and resolution make it ideal for reading technical manuals, and I assume comics .
If you do buy one, I would advise buying a matt screen protector as the screen is very shiny. I bought one from these...
The protector gives the screen a similar look and feel to a kindle, it's very pleasant to read from.

Any thoughts on this vs the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7"?

I bought one of these at Christmas, I'm very happy with it. The only slight niggle is that there is no root available, so I cant remove some of the annoying Asus bloatware in the stock ROM.
I bought this over the Tab S2 9.7" for the following reasons:
Price - it was considerably cheaper - I paid £250, £150 less than the Samsung.
More RAM - 4GB vs 3GB
USB-C - I already had this for my Nexus 6P phone, it's a vast improvement over the micro-USB connector on the Samsung.

this is running android 6.0 by the way, so don't expect to get multitasking like newer tablets
