I was looking for these to upgrade some workstations, and this was the best price I could find. The reviews say that this might not be an ideal card for a quiet machine though, as the fans always spin at minimum 50% - fixed setting on the card's bios. We've used these for speeding up image analysis and seen 100x speed up over the CPU bound version of the software. Can't say if they're great for games - but I'm sure someone else can comment! Heat?
Yeah good price for a 6gb variant, the fan profile is slightly bizarre though.

I went with the rx480 4gb for £149.99 in a recent deal for 1080p gaming but this is the card i was looking out for, too close to call between this and an 8gb rx480 maybe but if i had to choose this or the Asus dual rx480 I'd go with this.

LOL.
I have a R9 390X and a GTX 970, let me tell you, the AMD drivers are a much better experience. The only real advantage of NVIDIA is the lower CPU reliance in DX11 games.
GeForce experience has managed to complete hose a few of my Windows installations in the past, while forgetting to use the Custom install when updating drivers.
Also WattMan is absolutely amazing compared to very limited the tools NVIDIA offer, if you want to overclock and tweak your NVIDIA card you've basically got MSI Afterburner (which I personally hate, as it looks like some tacky 90s crap).

And built in ability to play games in 3D on a 3D monitor/TV. That's the only thing I miss with my rx480

A review from a few weeks ago to base current performance. Beats the RX480 on average across the resolutions tested.
The new drivers from a few days ago deliver a nice big boost in several of the DX12 games tested as well like Hitman.
Overclocking performance looks great too, getting on for 980ti performance in the OC test!
