My old Black & Decker 8.4V (Ithink) NiCad hammer drill, bought as a wedding present in 1995, worked fine for most of my needs. The battery gave out after 15 years but I could probably replace the cells and revive it  I still have it somewhere in the shed!

I only have a drill driver. It's a nice 18V Lithium ion Worx, which replaced a 20 year old NiCad Black and Decker hammer drill/drill driver after its battery expired and though I don't use it that much, I do occasionally miss the hammer function for mounting things on walls. So I'm selling my Worx (which has two batteries and I have only ever used one!) and getting this. I couldn't find a Li-Ion combi drill like this that was actually available as cheap as this, with a battery and a case. I doubt it would last 5 minutes on a building site but I'm sure It'll be fine for my needs.

Good deal if you missed out on a 18v one they did 4 months ago.

Depends what you are drilling into, it took an sds to fit the curtain rail above my lounge window due to the dense concrete lintel, a typical mains powered hammer drill couldn't get more than plaster depth.
