i understand this will only be suitable for a small amount of people like myself but as many others have found Three retentions had turned rubbish and they only seem to offer deals available to new customers. at least that's what i found despite being a customer for many years!
i followed this link and within 4 days got the text confirming my tariff is being updated on my next bill cycle. others too confirmed it worked despite not being on the "your current plan" the link suggests you're meant to be on.
hope this helps anyone who missed the link in the £20 for 30gb data deal comments.

This is your first comment here and you have never posted any deal... so stop talking about fake if you have 0 knowledge. I have upgraded to this tariff 2 weeks ago.

Vodafone staff are the biggest bunch of cowboys and incompetents I've ever had the misfortune to deal with.

confirmed this deal a few weeks ago,it was due to three cancelling my old contract at 15£ a month.
not bad trade off though, 4 £ a month increase but unlimited minutes.

I took out a three advanced plan so I could use "feel at home" for my holiday later this year. Was annoyed to discover that all mobile plans will allow it after 15th June due to EU law. Would have bought a cheaper plan if I'd known.
Agree with you though that for people only ever travelling within the EU it could be worth waiting for better deals on other networks.

Has there been anymore clarity with regards to this? Mobile roaming yes, but has it been confirmed whether text/data will also included? Plus, I wonder what will happen once Brexit fully kicks in? Since no has a crystal ball, I guess we'll have to wait and see :smirk:
Heat OP but I think I'll wait. Three retentions really have gone down hill lately haven't they...

You may still benefit. There's a subtle difference. Three like home uses your free allowance. The EU rule that comes in this summer says that roaming in the EU must be the same price as in home territory. Check how much networks charge in UK after free minutes / data, it's likely this is what you'll pay for free roaming. The EU regs don't say that your free allowance must work when roaming, just the price must be the same. So for example if you get 500 minutes free but it 35p a minute after the free minutes, when roaming they could charge you 35p a minute even if you haven't yet used your free minutes. Still meets the EU regulations, but isn't as exciting as the regulations sound when you first hear them. Hope that makes sense.
I still feel three offers fantastic value with the free roaming. Especially when you see how much many uk networks charge after your free allowances. In a lot of cases you were paying less for roaming a few years ago than you will when these regulations start!

It's a retention deal for those who have 30days or less left on their contract. You need to follow the link in the post.

Damn. My contract ended a few months ago with 3 and they offered this to me but for £27.
I tried and tried to get it cheaper by threatening I'd leave but they wouldn't have it and now I'm paying £27 :disappointed:
Good luck to those who get it, I'd be interested to know!

Thanks for the post OP! I made the silly mistake by moving from 3 to Vodafone. I've never ever dealt with such incompetent staff! A charge appeared on my January bill which I disputed. Roll on March and after chatting to three Vodafone staff on separate occasions who promised it would be removed it's still there! Venturing to their store (again!) today to get their finger out and get it sorted. The deal above will be great for my son. I can't wait to move back to 3.
