​Had great service from John Lewis in the past when problems have cropped up. Would trust them more than PRC in my opinion.

From experience JL cs is great. Returned a smaller Sony tv after 80+ days and no question asked. Replaced with the 55ke8000 and the tv is fantastic. Vs the 7000 the 8000 is true 10 bit rather than 8+2 and better sound system. Plus you get the DVD player. No brainier

I bought this combo from John Lewis and they agreed to price match at £999. This matched the price at Sonic Direct.
TV arrived last Thursday and I requested the cash back yesterday. John Lewis emailed me back at 18:03 to confirm they have credited my payment card with £200.
I have dealt with JLP for many years and have always found them excellent.

John Lewis will also price match!

Thank you so much I knew that individual was talking absolute rubbish the reason why is I own the Tv and got a great deal myself but not at the £999 price that individual stated thank you for confirming what I thought

I owned the 7000 which is similar and I wouldn't recommend it, I'm going to wait few years for LCD to get better, OLED to come down in price or something else to come along.

What's the point comparing a price that now doesn't exist the price is £1389 I will sonic direct and ask them if this Tv was EVER £999 frankly I would be really surprised if it was

The differences between 55KS7000 and 55KS8000 don't justify the £400+ premium.

However, it seems wackyraces got the 55" KS8000 for £999 (an absolute bargain and never seen it so cheap! !!) - plus he also got the £300 4K blu-ray player thrown in without having to pay a penny extra.....

I got John Lewis to price match the UE55KS9000 with free blu ray and 5 year warranty for £1379 (Crampton and Moore). Wasn't sure whether to go with the 9000 curved or the 8000 flat.

1299 at richer sounds now with 6 year guarantee. Tempting to ask each to beat the others price and see what their best is :stuck_out_tongue:

Currys offer £1400 with a £300 sound bar +4k blu-ray. so its probably a better deal. no idea if they will price match.

Kinda tempted to get it at currys. but i wonder if the soundbar and blu ray has any resale value

The item was in stock when I placed my order and there was nothing wrong with my card. Rather then put the order on hold pending payment they cancelled the order. The item then went out of stock and came back in stock a day or two later at a higher price. They would not honour the original order but said I could reorder at the new higher price and would not say what the problem with my card was (it worked fine afterwards) nor did they apologise.

If there was no problem with your card and you demonstrated that, then I don't see the issue - JL would have honored the price, if the item was in stock. They will also price-match their competitors and lock in that price for 28 days.

I havn't dealt with PRC myself but dont see why you would not deal with them, unless you have had a problem with them in the past. My dealings with John Lewis were obviously not as good as yours.
Some of those reviews on Trust Pilot for John Lewis are for the exact same issue that I had so I doubt they are fake.

Great TV (which I own) if you get a good panel and £ for £ it's currently the best TV you can get for the spec and price. OLED is great at some things, but fails at others. It's not without faults as some people like to make out.

As for PRC I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole, in my experience John Lewis have always been amazing. The Trustpilot reviews look fake.
My Sony TV died in the last month of it's guarantee with JL and as there wasn't a like for like model available, they gave me credit to the full value of the original purchase - as the TV was beyond economic repair. How many other companies would do that?

Exactly TK. I always get them to put on 4 music as it's really low quality and has lots of movement. All TV's can handle the high quality store demos but it's this which really catches out most TV's.

The upscaling on this tv is fantastic. I went from a 46 inch to this 55 inch and was concerned for non full HD channels looking poor as i have seen on many a 55 inch. I have had no weak channels what so ever. You also read a lot of tv jargon about super duper contrast, ultra ultra HD etc but can honestly say the colour, contrast, motion and sharpness is the best out there led wise.

Good advice, worth testing them at different resolutions 1080p and maybe even 720p just to see how good the upscaling is and also with some fast action movies or sport at 4k to check motion handling.

prc is that the peoples Republic of China? Been looking at this TV 8n currys and very impressed.Like the oled but advised to get one of these.Have a curved version buy like to update every few years.Think I'd prefer to buy from John Lewis.

Always happens with the internet, some people will get a great experience from a retailer, while others won't. I personally ordered a tv from JL a few weeks back and had no issues.

However there's a few other retailers out there I would never use due to bad previous experiences

Have you dealt with PRC or is that just an opinion? Having dealt with John Lewis I can honestly say I have had the worst customer experience ever from them. I placed order with them for what I thought was a good deal. My order was then rejected saying that my card didn't meet their security requirements. I'd never had a problem using my card before and so was a bit miffed. The email said if I'd like to ring them up then I could and they would be able to take my order. So I rang them up only to told the same. I tried calling them several times only to told the same thing over and over again. Whilst this was going on the item went up in price. I was then told they would accept my order but the item was no longer available and I would have to reorder. At this stage the item was more expensive than elsewhere and they could no longer supply it as it was no longer available (The same item was now listed with a different stock code at a higher price).

They might be ok if you collect in store but I would seriously avoid buying online especially if they are offering something at a good price. Better to buy from some one who honour their prices imo.

Ahh didn't realise it's not curved?Prefer the curved version.Still a decent deal though.
