"Nextbase 402G has just been awarded a Which? Best Buy..... 2014"
They had a huge issue with battery failures. Try to ensure you get one with a serial number starting 16 to avoid the problem. I went through four before getting a good one and the serial number info came from Nextbase when I started complaining.

I had an early serial numbered one of the 402G's and my battery died.
I contacted Nextbase and was given the option of returning to them so they could replace the battery FOC or, the option I chose, to get a replacement battery to swap myself.
It's not that difficult if you have a bit of soldering experience!
I actually got Nextbase to send me two batteries so I had a second spare....
Might prove to be useful now....

I have both but the 402 has better video quality. Actually is the best dashcam I had so far. Too bad it failed just after one year. CPL filters are about £16 which I think is mandatory for any dashcam

The reason why I said about the 312gw as there were battery issues with the older models, and as far as I know the problem doesn't exist on the 312gw

Do you use the filter to help do away with reflections off the dash ?

You are right, I also can confirm that 312gw is working properly as I am using it now. On my 402G I was getting corrupted files, I am not sure if that was caused by the battery. I will replace it with a capacitor when I have time and I will see. Anyway I got my 312gw from PCW with 3 years of extra cover.
