Exactly my thoughts... was going for £65 before from most retailers and it's the cheapest delivered price
A used i3 6100 still costs more than this with pretty much identical performance

I'm still using a Q9300. This processor is cheap enough, but would cost too much for board and memory to justify...rarely use my desktops now. Tend to use laptop for windows and Rpi for everything else.
Have dual DVB S2 tuner in desktop...but not really used due to lack of integrated software (no windows media centre) in Windows 10.

Great value CPU. It's very nearly a i3 for a lot less money. First Pentium in a long time to get Hyper Threading, which can make a big difference in some situations. I've got one in an B150 ITX build. As mentioned by the OP, you'll need a BIOS update to use this on a Skylake motherboard.

Some older boards can be flashed via USB without a cpu needed so worth checking before you buy

AFAIK only very few boards support this as the feature needs a custom chip able to init USB and do the flashing without a CPU. Only some very end Asus ("USB BIOS Flashback") and Gigabyte ("Q-Flash Plus") boards support this I think and no MSI or ASRock do.

It's a great feature that's sadly quite rare. It's mostly expensive ones that can do this.

Probably because most people can't be arsed to go through the process of building a pc from scratch nowadays

Great price, nearly as good as an i3 6300 and half the price, perfect for a decent PC for most daily tasks.

How does this compare to an old i5 2500k?

It's on par with it at stock speeds... if you have a 2500k there is no reason to upgrade
I really wish I had my old 2500k still managed to get up to 4.8ghz stable

Great deal, got one a week ago for a htpc setup with a 1050 and so far its been great
I feel a touch guilty I have to admit as I bought a cheap G3900 to flash the bios on the H110itx and then sent it back

Clearly not guilty enough to prevent you from relaying this information to the entire world.
Opening post
I'll be throwing it in a cheap h110m motherboard I picked up ages ago for £20 (used my 6600k to update the bios)
And just got 8gb of ddr4 from ocuk for peanuts
Probably throw a 750ti I have lying around in too
