"Cheap as chips"
Bought in Tesco metro Greenford, I believe national. Standard size white potatoes, nothing wrong with them (no cuts, no dirt).
Works like £3.60 / 10kg.
Edit: add. info:
Origin:UK
Variety: King Edward
Washed
A small sprinkling of strong cheddar on top and care not to boil the cream+milk and you get this simple tasty-ass dish.

While you are in HB .. Fry light spray oil £1.49 (tesco £2.30) drycure bacon £1.49 220g (tesco £2.50) baxters soup 50p (tesco £1.10) Ben&Jerrys cookie dough £1.99 ( tesco £4.00) Nairn oatcakes 59p (tesco 99p) 5% extra lean beef mince 400gm £2.29 ( tesco 500gm £4) kettle chips 150gm 59p (tesco £1.99).. Rather than just buying spuds for 69p

There are many different varieties of potatoes. Some of the high yielding ones are cheap but of limited use. These King Edwards are about half of Lidl's price so seems a good deal to me.

Why do Tesco always get such high heat on here? Either their products can be bought cheaper elsewhere (as demonstrated above, once again!) or they have one product, in one single store in the entire UK, which someone buys at a heavily discounted price, whacks on here, and then the brain dead amongst us aimlessly search each store near them within a 20-mile radius to secure the same deal, only to find they've been unsuccessful and wasted £20 of fuel!

might have something to do with fact that tesco is the largest retailer in the UK with more than 3,000 outlets. that's why looots of wild goose chases everywhere

The tesco near me has reduced the variety of food stuff massively so as not to carry too much stock .. And put in 2 aisles of clothing, while reducing the width of the other aisles . Mind you nearby is aldi, HB, B&M, which are packed and tesco is like a ghost town. They simply can't compete on prices . Loss leaders only drag me in there now .

My local Lidls can't keep their shelves stocked. Pointless going after work some nights as they have lots of empty space.
