"Cheap as chips"
Bought in Tesco metro Greenford, I believe national. Standard size white potatoes, nothing wrong with them (no cuts, no dirt).
Works like £3.60 / 10kg.
Edit: add. info:
Origin:UK
Variety: King Edward
Washed
A small sprinkling of strong cheddar on top and care not to boil the cream+milk and you get this simple tasty-ass dish.

While you are in HB .. Fry light spray oil £1.49 (tesco £2.30) drycure bacon £1.49 220g (tesco £2.50) baxters soup 50p (tesco £1.10) Ben&Jerrys cookie dough £1.99 ( tesco £4.00) Nairn oatcakes 59p (tesco 99p) 5% extra lean beef mince 400gm £2.29 ( tesco 500gm £4) kettle chips 150gm 59p (tesco £1.99).. Rather than just buying spuds for 69p

There are many different varieties of potatoes. Some of the high yielding ones are cheap but of limited use. These King Edwards are about half of Lidl's price so seems a good deal to me.

Why do Tesco always get such high heat on here? Either their products can be bought cheaper elsewhere (as demonstrated above, once again!) or they have one product, in one single store in the entire UK, which someone buys at a heavily discounted price, whacks on here, and then the brain dead amongst us aimlessly search each store near them within a 20-mile radius to secure the same deal, only to find they've been unsuccessful and wasted £20 of fuel!

might have something to do with fact that tesco is the largest retailer in the UK with more than 3,000 outlets. that's why looots of wild goose chases everywhere

The tesco near me has reduced the variety of food stuff massively so as not to carry too much stock .. And put in 2 aisles of clothing, while reducing the width of the other aisles . Mind you nearby is aldi, HB, B&M, which are packed and tesco is like a ghost town. They simply can't compete on prices . Loss leaders only drag me in there now .

My local Lidls can't keep their shelves stocked. Pointless going after work some nights as they have lots of empty space.

Yep just proves the rise of the discount supermarkets. Mind you tesco has stopped the night shift , and stock shelves during the day , so on a sat afternoon it's like 1980s Russian supermarket , nowt on the shelves.. At least the one nearest me has . That's the only time you see the place busy .
no they arent they are 2kg for 69p use to be 59p but they are different brand than king Edward ones.

morrisons have the similar bag for £1.17 for 2.5 kg , so have some heat from me. funnily i didnt feel anything different abt them, they seemed like regular shapes to me just a little bit cheaper.

Great deal. I love the fact that finally, supermarkets are selling wonky veg, etc.

I just don't understand how anybody at all could ever mark potatoes in any shape as "wonky". Small ones are great for wedges as two cuts and your done. Elongated ones are good for long chips and everything goes for dicing them for your Sunday lunch etc. I don't think at any point in my short decade of cooking potatoes, either bought from the supermarket or the local farmer, picked one out the bag and thrown it away.

Can anyone tell me what will be the taste difference once these so called 'Wonky' or 'imperfect' veg coming from the same yield are cooke the same way i.e. fried, mashed boiled or roasted etc.... I don't think so.
Banana's have to be certain dimensions wow that made my taste buds going.... the grower can be seen wasting his crop to compose.
I am glad some one woke up in who ever kicked them in the backside.....
I bet if they worn't making money they wouldn't even wink.... some one told them you will be making money in this venture they flickered and look now, us public don't see any difference....

don't worry about Tesco prices, just make sure you buy enough items to qualify for price match?
