This has made me think twice, been looking at smart sockets for a while. And more or less settled on TP-Link Wi-Fi Smart Plug HS100. mmmm which way to go?

I've got Philips Hue for my lights and have a HS100 from TP-Link for a dehumidifier I have. I plan on keeping with TP-Link now for their smart plugs and Philips for their bulbs. Both work natively with the Echo so I never really have to actually delve into the apps for each platform.

shame it's isn't bayonet

Probably worth pointing out that if you use the adapters to make them bayonet it won't fit in the ceiling socket while the bit that holds a shade on is in place.
I got an adapter from eBay and it works in my outside bulb

But it is true, adapters are practical but limit the number of shades or enclosures that will allow for "longer" bulbs. Best as said above is to change the bulb holder to e27 if at all possible. Bayonet type is mostly in the uk. Outside the uk the norm is Edison Screw.

There seems little or no stock of the TP link HS 100/110 products in the UK everywhere i look says waiting for stock even the older model. I have several on order but stock won't be available until mid feb.
