What makes this deal so hot and the other cold? 15" vs 17", 1.5tb hdd vs 1tb, £20 difference, but look very similar spec otherwise. Personally I'd rather have the bigger screen since I'd be using it as desktop replacement.

What is the screen like? Recently had to send back a laptop that was full HD but fonts on the screen appeared quite blurry, even with the font settings changed to keep them smooth.

medion doesn't really have a great reputation for reliability.. not sure i would want to put in 500 quid of my cash

I disagree - one of the reasons I like Medion stuff is that I have had plenty of desktop units from them in the past. My first ever was in around 2004 I think with a P4 3.4GHz processor with HT! Never caused any problems. Also have 2 base units I use for work, an i3-4160 based unit and an A8-5500 unit too. Finally, my personal PC is an i5-4460 system and all have been reliable to deal with and have had no issues.
I've never had a laptop mind, but based on the desktops my own personal experience has never been anything other than exceptional with great build quality.

I have had 2 medion laptops now, and they have been excellent! one is over 5 yrs old and still used daily, upgraded them both with SSD's over the yrs I have owned them and they are fantastic.
