I've got 22 GU10s covering my downstairs. 8 of them (when I pick up my 4 from Argos) are going to be Hue which are the central bulbs on one 2 gang manual switch in the living room.
The other 14 are split over 3 LightwaveRF switches which cost me:
Wifi Link - £52 from eBay
LED bulbs compatible with LRF £75ish
Switches - £40 x 3 = £120
But then I saw some mood switches on eBay for £13 delivered and bought 2 of those (they are awesome) = £26
Total = £273
If I wanted another 10 bulbs on LRF like thefair1973 - then it'd probably push it up to £380ish anyway!
There are pro's that I found LRF had over Hue for me which is why I went for LRF mainly - the fact that you can switch them back on with the app if someone turns them off with the switch was the main one for me!! Also, the mood controllers or even the mood remotes you can get are pretty awesome and save you from having to either talk to Alexa or pulling up the app. i.e. when it's time for bed for the kids, I hit preset 1 in the living room and all the lights in the house go off with a dimmed light in the landing and hallway.
The cons are that the community/help is very scarce and the LRF products don't report whether they are already on or not which can be an annoyance as you never truly know whether you turned the light on or off when you are away. I have already had one occasions when we ended up staying out late so I turned the lights on via the app and came home to a dark house. Also, it's very hard to find good deals for the stuff or even on some occasions, stores that stock the stuff! Oh and if you need different colours, forget LightwaveRF. I tried the coloured philips hue bulbs and returned them as I didn't see any reason for me ever needing to change the colour.

Is the starter kit they are selling actually 3rd Gen richer colours? The images show the 2nd gen, with the silver body bulbs? If nobody know I'll take one for the team and report back haha
Also it says you get £10 voucher for spending over £100.

"These are great. You can completely change the atmosphere of your room and really impress. Lots of fun trying the numerous apps available. These are the 3rd gen as well so richer colours. Definitely recommend"
The reviews suggest they are 3rd gen.... will update anyway once i've picked them up.

I've just bought the v1 hue set up with the 2 bulbs.
Are there any major differences between the v1 and v2?

There's a B&Q offer kicking around - 2 white bulbs and 2 dimmers for £50.
I got an awesome deal on alza.co.uk just after Christmas. This still doesn't beat that but what an awesome deal nonetheless.
So tempted but I've just forked out hundreds on LightwaveRF products so that I wouldn't get the issue of someone turning the lights off at the switch and making the hue bulbs totally pointless.
Might still pick up a couple of B22s... anyone know if Hue bulbs work with LightwaveRF dimmers?

Completely different technology, LWRF can't control Hue bulbs.

Might treat my parents to a starter kit. Not as good as its been on amazon before but £112 isn't a bad price.
