Plug the mifi into you laptop/pc ( I used virtual machine on my mac) via USB cable.
When you plug it in for the first time, an autorun disk appears to install the driver. Let it!
Once installed, unpack the firmware zip and run the .exe it will search for the mifi then ask for a password. Type in the Flash code you got earlier.
It should install ok.
Once done, let it reboot and log in to check its ok. It should still look like three branded MiFi.
Now unzip the WebGUI zip and run the exe. Follow instructions , let it reboot once done.
You might find your login/password doesn't work. It should be admin/admin but if you can't login, hold the reset button on the inside of the mifi for 8 seconds to clear it to defaults.
After that it should work fine! Default IP is 192.168.8.1 login/pass admin/admin
Mine seems more responsive and it adds the wifi extender feature plus firewall stuff.
good deal, but that device is locked to Three I'm guessing? if not, very hot. thanks.

Did seriously consider that but after all discounts/travel cost etc, I am saving about £10.
Also, should anything go wrong, I am sure Amazon will offer a replacement, no questions asked.

Hardly the same sort of deal though. That requires you to take out a rolling 30 day contract which from experience is difficult to cancel without paying two months. It's okay but the Osprey Mini (a similar device) has been offered on the same deal for £4.99 a couple of times recently.
Rolling contract can be cancelled with only 30 days notice

Can you use the wifi repeat feature on these to connect to the Bt wifi hotspots?
Often when I go camping there is a hotspot but it doesnt reach where I'm staying. Potentially this could extend it?

This is what I did for my E5573s-320
Go here and enter the IMEI of the mifi.
https://tools.texby.com/unlock-codes/huawei/
It will give you a sim unlock code and flash code.
Now the firmware I used is here
https://routerunlock.com/download-huawei-e5573s-320-firmware-21-180-17-00-00-normal/
( Click the big green down-arrow to download and avoid the adverts)
You'll also need the new Web GUI ( this adds the features and removes three branding)
