Would anyone know how this compares to the Google Pixel XL? Have been quite ignorant of phones not made by Samsung and the Pixel is too expensive at the moment. (currently have a Samsung note)

stick with Samsung the Samsung galaxy7 edge is pound for pound as Google as the pixel xl and in some reviews better.also it's cheaper if you can wait till feb/March the Samsung galaxy8 will be released.makes the pixel xl look ordinary.

It depends if price is a factor. I just sold my s7 and got the honor 8. I have had phones from LG, htc, Samsung and honor. I have had the honor 6, 7 and now the 8. Personally for design and look this is a better phone. Of course if you want a larger screen the xl and the s7 edge is the one to go for. But pound for pound performance camera, battery for the price you can't go wrong. If you want a larger screen I would say go the 3t in terms of price vs performance and smaller screen i would say go for this. What you will get with the pixel is software updates which Samsung are slow at and probably won't get the new version untill the s8 as they want people to upgrade to the s8. The s8 probably won't be able to buy till end of March beginning of April. I would say.
pixel is the best phone out there by far. all manufacturers get something wrong. Google make their phone ideal, they set the bar for other manufacturers to then go ahead and copy from/compete with.

I'm happy to wait but really confused on what phone to get now, as the notes have also been discontinued. :disappointed:
It might be better for me to stay with Vodafone on a sim only deal, in the hope they'll give me a good deal on the s8 when it comes out. Was in the process of leaving them and moving to the virgin media rolling contract but they probably won't welcome me back with open arms if I do that!!
I've jut got off the pixel xl band wagon today as it's just too expensive - really liked the look of it but hukd community helped talk me out of it!!

I bought my Honor 6 from Amazon almost 2 years ago. Headphone socket went faulty couple of months ago, and they sent a brand new one! It's a fantastic phone, and great customer service from Amazon. Highly recommend Huawei.

Hi quick question about your comment, did you get 2 year warranty for the phone with Amazon or the manufacturer? I have a Honor 6 from Amazon too, would I contact Huawei or Amazon for issues I have with it?

2 years. Unfortunately this was enforced post Honor 7 so I won't be getting Android N.
