Update, there is now an extra 10% off hotel breaks outside Legoland (see link) and apply to prices on page (you'll see 10% off)
Eg
Hello there, spotted quite a few bargain offers on Legoland from as little as £34pp based on a family of 4 - I would advise getting booked up ASAP as no doubt prices usually double and rooms go quickly.
Few examples (hit the get deal link to check) - Note some are nearer than others so might be worth paying £4ppish extra to save on travel / time - Also check when booking hotel as some don't include breakfast.
some hotels also include kids eat free, welcome packs, xbox rooms, 10% off restaurants etc
Examples
The Basingstoke Hotel £136 / Heathrow Premier Inn £162 / Hilton Bracknell £169 30th March
The Basingstoke Hotel £136 / Holiday Inn Express T5 £159 31st March
The Basingstoke Hotel 28th April £136
Holiday Inn Express T5 28th April £151
The Basingstoke Hotel / T5 Holiday Inn £159 / Heathrow Mecure £165 3rd April
Mercure London Heathrow 4th April £164
Holiday Inn Express T5 / The Basingstoke Hotel £159 12th April
Holiday Inn Express T5 £159 13th April
Heathrow Premier Inn £162 / Holiday Inn Express T5 £164 2nd May
That's just a few but loads on-site, those dates above park is fully open with all rides etc - if you pick a date when park closed you'll get a pop-up and can amend

We live very close to Legoland and for that reason alone we had annual passes for few years. In our last year (2 years ago), it got so bad that we stopped going there at all due to terrible queues for stupid 2 minute rides. So, we didn't use the pass we had, even though we are 15 minutes away literally. Average wait is well over 30 minutes for small rides and 45-60 minutes for more attractive rides now. And, after a few times, everything else around stop being interesting. Even the music they use is the same for the last 5 years. My favourite now is Adventure Island in Southend. It worths driving 1.5 hours there. No queues, no hassle, just nice rides and very fair prices. And, if you need a break from the rides, you are in a nice place by the sea to shop or eat.

A good price, and we have done it several times. But Basingstoke is a fair drive from Legoland and you could be contending with rush hour traffic. The Slough hotels are all very close.

Overpriced, overcrowded, overhyped.
Glad my kids have grown too big for it now.

Yes saw crime watch regarding the play area without any cameras. People just need to be careful. Can happen anywhere but anyone travelling legoland just be careful around areas without any cameras

Done this offer a couple of times, the holiday Inn Express T5 which was fine if a little functional.
I liked the Hilton St Annes Manor more, was kids eat free when i last went, but even without that the kids meals were ridiculously cheap

Yes you do queue but if you get there before 9.30am and leave an hour before closure, usually 4pm or 5pm depending on when you go, you can easily do 10 rides and more. I have been a few times with the kids and the day we went on less than 10 rides, we arrived just before 11am by which time it was packed. Oh and we don't get Q-bots.

I have to agree with you, but sometimes the kids overrule my decisions!
