Please don't think of Halfords as a bike shop. It is very hit and miss (dependant on the member of staff) as to their bike knowledge. At £600 ish you should be able to get something reduced from the £1k mark from last year. Paul's Cycles are often good but most large shops will have deals. The boardmans are ok but for £600 and with some shopping around you can get better for your money and confidence that it will be set up correctly

wouldnt be able to justify parting with 300 quid to buy the worry about thieves.. i appreciate for you the joy from riding offsets the worry of it getting stolen and locking it right everytime etc etc..

Guys please stop posting hot road bike deals. I have not finished my Graphics card venture yet. Not these hot baby again! oO oO oO I am waiting for a Giant Propel advanced pro to come down but this as an everyday use bike is quite tempting.

buy a bottle of naked juice and you might win a bike.
Costs about £15 a year to insure, and I wouldn't use my road bike to nip down to the supermarket!

The frame on the Triban feels like scaffold poles compared to the Cannondale's lighter and better ride. Only real advantage of the Triban is the Sora shifters.
