You can buy compatible pods in Tesco etc, but I do prefer to the the Nespresso originals.

These things are not a good buy. You can only buy the pods online wither from the manufacturer or a 3rd party selling "compatible" refills

The deal's for the machine not the nespresso product / company as a whole. Appreciate not everyone will want this and prefer coffee another way.

Can you recommend some decent pods and the ones to stay away from please. Awaiting delivery of my Nespresso citiz with milk free from my new times subscription. (Yes we subscribed previously just swapped names so we could get a new machine). Many thanks in advance

They have had them a couple of times when they're also selling their own Nespresso machine, but then don't stock them regularly (e.g. Bought my Aldi machine in April I think and then no pods sold until a few weeks ago and have stopped again). Very annoying, but as pointed out, various brands sold widely including my local small Co-ops. Currently trying Taylor's via subscribe and save on Amazon, which are decent.

Before buying a Nespresso machine years ago I wouldn't buy one for years previously as I didn't like being tied to one system of buying and using coffee. I also thought it was anti environmental to have aluminium capsules.
However the truth is that there's no better coffee, provided in perfect nick by the capsules, and they have a free recycling service where they provide the pickup. Maybe (expensive) bean-to-cup machines are better, but the Nespresso capsules are hard to beat. By the way, just as computers aren't important - it's the software, so the Nespresso machines aren't important, it's the coffee, and compatibles are not nearly as good as the originals.
