Why buy a Nespresso machine and then buy lesser pods ... you may as well buy a cheaper machine to go with the pods.
For me the Nespresso pods you can taste the quality and difference that's why I invested in the machine.

What cheaper machine? For overall cost including pods as far as I can see Nespresso is cheapest unless i'm missing something..
And whilst i'm sure many of the cheapest pods don't taste the best I find it hard to believe others couldn't be as good as Nespresso ones. It's coffee not some mystery new substance. That's why i'm trying all the different ones I can find anyway.

Why having a good machine and not buying their coffe? The all point of nespresso is the coffee not the machine itself.

Nespresoo can be ordered online in most major shopping centres and as mentioned JL and Selfridges.
Must admit I do like the stores and the tasting bar for a freebie and also try and always buy different pods.
Nespresso postage is only free for 200 pods.

Peter Jones is now selling genuine Nespresso pods, so expect all John Lewis branches to do so in the near future.

It's a pilot in Peter Jones and JL Kingston, so if all goes well then it could well be all or selected JL's.

Not tried them.

paid £79 for the silver version from currys about 2 weeks ago and........i love it.
retired the gaggia for it and have no regrets. Yes, there's a tinge of regret when you're in a nice coffee shop that sells ground coffee and beans to take home, but I can always stick that in the aeropress or french press.
To be honest, the advantages massively outweigh the disadvantages for me, with the big bonus being no longer having to lie to the wife and say that the nice cup of coffee she made for me was indeed nice, as anyone can make a nice drink out of these, with zero mess, and quickly. The main disadvantage is that it's too easy to make a nice drink with these, so by 9am i can be very wired.
for those who like a longer drink, it's pretty easy and tasty to microwave just less than half a cup of milk for a minute, then stick it under the nespresso for a shot of coffee. Cheats latte.
For alternative pods, i've tried pellini, lidl and starbucks (who had a decent black friday deal of 25% off their taster pack online, think they do 10% off for first orders) and they all made a decent drink, and definitely more than acceptable for when aunt mavis turns up over xmas. In fact there's only been one pod so far that's been terrible, and that was the nespresso vanillo (?) one from the taster pack- do yourself a favour and only serve this to the mother-in-law .
I can definitely recommend it.

These things are not a good buy. You can only buy the pods online wither from the manufacturer or a 3rd party selling "compatible" refills

Generally compatibles in supermarkets are no cheaper than the original Nespresso ones, unless it's Aldi/Lidl or if there are offers on. You can order direct from Nespresso online/app/freephone or purchase in boutiques if there is one near you. Order before 6pm and it's now guaranteed next day delivery plus you can recycle the capsules, either request collection when ordering or drop of to over 4,000 collect + locations. As for the deal, that's hot! Especially as you can claim £45 club reward towards the coffee, effectively costing you £14 in the long run!!!

Before buying a Nespresso machine years ago I wouldn't buy one for years previously as I didn't like being tied to one system of buying and using coffee. I also thought it was anti environmental to have aluminium capsules.
However the truth is that there's no better coffee, provided in perfect nick by the capsules, and they have a free recycling service where they provide the pickup. Maybe (expensive) bean-to-cup machines are better, but the Nespresso capsules are hard to beat. By the way, just as computers aren't important - it's the software, so the Nespresso machines aren't important, it's the coffee, and compatibles are not nearly as good as the originals.

They have had them a couple of times when they're also selling their own Nespresso machine, but then don't stock them regularly (e.g. Bought my Aldi machine in April I think and then no pods sold until a few weeks ago and have stopped again). Very annoying, but as pointed out, various brands sold widely including my local small Co-ops. Currently trying Taylor's via subscribe and save on Amazon, which are decent.

The deal's for the machine not the nespresso product / company as a whole. Appreciate not everyone will want this and prefer coffee another way.
Opening post
Also comes with £45 nespresso credit (useable as 3 x £15).
