@Rollmesome - to use wireless flash you normally need a transceiver, attached to the camera, and a receiver, attached to the flash. Wireless flashes have built in wireless communications so you can use the flash without the receiver (only a transceiver), and can also use attach a wireless external flash onto the camera hotshoe to fire other flashes as wireless 'slaves', without needing any additional transceiver or receiver units.
