I've been looking for a new system since before Black Friday but haven't really seen any great discounts but this seems like a great deal.
I went into Richer Sounds to ask for the free cables that Peter Tyson were offering on what I thought was the same bundle. During the price match they pointed out Peter Tyson were offering the Q7000i Plus model instead, which was a big price difference and they didn't have that model in stock - they told me to go to Peter Tyson and bite their hand off.
The Q7000i Plus speakers is the upgrade from the regular Q7000i with an improved subwoofer with two cones instead of one big one.
The 5.1 speakers themselves retail for £999 on Peter Tyson (£799 at Richer Sounds), and the AV Receiver at £399.
They include a free cable pack too which retails at £99!
Effectively this is a package that retails at £1,479 for £999.
Who can afford to spend £1000 on a surround sound? Plenty of people evidenced by the fact that people buy them. UK hot deals is about deals *relative to the original price" not just "three kitkats at 70p in Farmfoods" which a lot of people mistakenly think is the only type of deal.

I'll vote hot, just for the though Richer Sound staff might send you esle where, but the PoundLanders and 99p Shoppers are going to send this to absolute ZERO.

Anyone know if these will perform better than wall mounted Kit-Kats? I can get 5+1 free in Farmfoods.
Anyway, looks like a good package if you are into your home AV. I have Cambridge Audio Minx's setup into a 5.1.4 system powered by a Denon AVR-X2300W partnered with some Kef R50 Atmos speakers and a BK Elec XXLS400DF sub. It's a bit of a peculiar arrangement, but surprisingly works very well.

Hahaha, good new years day laugh, get a decent job, progress in life and then one day you'll be able to afford to enjoy nice things, instead of being bitter towards those who can

The poor are easily startled, but they'll be back, and in greater numbers.

If you want music then a stereo receiver and two speakers (and maybe a sub if your music taste lends itself to that) will usually be better.
As a general deal, this is pretty good, jump on it if you're looking for surround sound at this budget.

I'm pretty pleased with the set up and what hi-fi has given great reviews.

And does 7.1 not add much then?
To those commenting on price, it does seem a lot.
But personally I need to get a blu ray player, stereo, and speakers.
Seems this can do all?
Use it for TV, movies, listening to music (assume you can connect a chromecast audio which could work nicely), as a blu ray player etc.
Would be quite nice listening to 5.1 music me thinks. Currently I use high end headphones.
