Posted previously at £29.99 so a further £5 off has built in speakers and comes in a carry case. It is cheap and plays records. In red, teal or brown.

This is the worst piece of kit I have ever seen!
I had one of these for xmas, well I was like a 46 year old kid when I opened the box . . .I set it up in the kitchen to listen to my albums whilst cooking dinner, but was sent into spoilt bratt tantrum mode when it found it that useless it started skipping my tracks and the music quality / volume was terrible . . . So I thought lets plug it in to my speakers only to find the sound still terrible.
I checked a few LP's but still the same and it also made me see sick as the turntable was making the LP's go up and down like the ocean.
What do you expect I hear you say??? Well I expect something that plays albums and has sound I can hear!
Rant over as I've taken it back and ordered an ION . . . . . If that is bad too then I'll have to upset the wife and get the Denon out

I've just bought my first record player, I knew nothing when I started looking into them. Essentially you need to be spending £200+ on a Audio Technics, Rega or PRO-JECT turntable, or get an old and heavy turntable. Apparently everything else is inadequate at playing records and most likely damage them over time, these little portable things with inbuilt speakers being the worst offenders.

youre an idiot if you think you can get a decent sounding turntable for this price, you deserve what you got....

Prepare to be disapointed with the Ion, they all use much the same mechanisms (ie cheap and crap) - you already know this so you might as well get your old Denon out right now and avoid further tantrums
These cheapo decks are really just cashing in on the vinyl revival that's sweeping the supermarkets and Amazon (I was amazed to see Sainsbury's selling 12" records, especially the Sex Pistols 'Never mind the **** here's the Sex Pistols' album for all to see!
But a cheap deck will more likely ruin your cherished vinyl

I've just picked up a Teac TN-300 for £250. It has a built-in pre amp and I am currently using it with a Marshall Woburn speaker. It sounds pretty good. Just another one to consider for anyone looking to get back into vinyl with a decent entry level turntable.

Ditto... Dad just got one (albeit, an Akai branded) and we can't fault it...
Simple to use, loud and clear and more importantly, nostalgic!
this looks very similar to the one Sainsburys do. was given it for Christmas. dug out a box of old 45s and it tends to cut out before the end . fun but I wouldn't recommend. the 12" one played OK . did stick and skip on some , but I guess some of the record's hadn't been touched for thirty year's

No talking about the quality, but it has been this price for a while.
