finally a proper super 6 deal from Aldi especially the 2kg maris piper potatoes ok the carrots are around half price at 19p per kg no idea about the stinky broccoli as I never buy it. but it's not half bad for the lettuce also 19p letus us know what u guys recon and u got some sprouts and par-snips please don't snip at me if u don't like them. maybe u can sprout a new taste for them all for 19p sorry but my rhyming skills ain't upto it any more. so good luck with the deal starting 18th December

Why do some idiots not realise when things are sold at a cheap price like this, that the store will not be making a profit, may even be making a loss.It's not that producers are not being paid much, or in the case of the cheap school uniforms that children in sweat shops abroad must be making for next to nothing.
These goods are sold cheaply to encourage people to go to the store and then they are likely to buy other goods.

What they're supposed to be so don't worry. Aldi and Lidl were one of the first signers of the NUF's fruit and veg pledge which basically promotes sustainability and decent prices for farmers. Being German companies, it wouldn't have surprised me if the were some of the last of the big supermarkets. :smile:
This and most cheap prices are loss leaders to increase footfall. It's practically impossible for a company to transport 2kg of potatoes all over the country and still make a profit on 19p a bag.

ul have to wait after Xmas but u never know it's been 1p for all fresh fruit and vegetables at aldi in I think 2011 or 2012. but u can always try asda late evening they reduce dated stock to as low as 5p a pack sometimes or even 3p
