I just bought the IPS version, used but supposedly perfect for this price, let's hope it is.Otherwise would have jumped on this!

This one is the XB271HUAbmiprz which is TN, the XB271HUbmiprz is IPS. You'd think they'd come up with slightly catchier names to seperate them

I'd just like to add, I have one of these. It's a fantastic monitor, even better when you have an Nvidia card as it's got G-Sync, so no more vertical sync lowering your frame rate.
Brilliant price too. Heat added.

Slightly less bezel than the Asus with the same panel, so for those with multi-monitor setups, perfect. Have a fiddle with the colour settings (or find a colour profile/icc online) and it's as good as the Dell in the same TN range.
Combine with a 480/1070+ and enjoy a buttery smooth experience

Must be good as it has red accents and the moniker 'predator'.

My stand is getting spray painted matte black when it arrives (after making sure all is working)!

That's a good price. Now I don't know if I should get it or hope for some Christmas offer on the IPS version.

This particular IPS version is uber-expensive new, so I wouldn't hold out on a good IPS deal; also the 27" IPS screens at 144/165 Hz have horrible back light bleed/yellowing in the corners. I have yet to see a perfect variant of those screen (see me comment below and this link: http://imgur.com/a/jWO59

I believe this is rated as one of the best TN panels around. Better in fact than some low end, poor performing IPS monitors.
