Cheers op, I'm after a decent pair of headphones, got a 100-150 limit, should I go for these or can someone else recommend another pair of sennheisers? There's so many different models, can't get my head round them all. Thanks in advance

Depends on a few things. What sound signature do you want? Open headphones generally lack bass clout, but if you want more prominent bass you probably won't be happy with these.

Also depends what you want to use them for. Out and about or home hifi? These would be good for the latter but not the former.
And like rev6 mentioned, what sound signature do you prefer? For example, Bassy and dynamic or flat and detailed?

Put it this way you're unlikely to lose much if anything if you try these and sell them on.

if the 598 suddenly came up on offer those would be better ...which does happen

I have the 595's and I just dial up the bass a tad. (I'm just as likely to do that as to decrease the bass on in-ear 'phones otherwise it gets a bit tiring to listen to)

Yeah you can do that to get more bass but it can have a negative effect on the entire sound as the driver is tuned to sound a certain way. A tad is good though.

Not impressed with these. They have a more acceptable appearance and a more secure fit, but they're seriously lacking in clarity compared to my old AD700.
In fairness they do have more bass and would be easier listening for longer at higher volumes, but I'm not sure I like the compromise on everything else. For 20% less than I paid for the AD700 they're not too bad, but otherwise overpriced imo.

Overpriced even at £80? What other options would you suggest around this price.

As I said not too bad for the current price, but otherwise as in previous price not so good.
