Tempted by this, my Oral-b needs charging too often, heard these philips sonicare can go a lot longer without recharging.

Yeah, same. Apparently has a tendency to break after 2 years. But for £28 that's fine with me! Cheapest you can get it :smiley:

Oral b also only last 3 years max before a full charge only lasts for 3 or 4 brushes :disappointed:

have had several oral b toothbrushes, the batteries deteriorate (they use NiMH or maybe even NiCd) so they don't last. The bottom range sonicare also use NiMH but most, including this one, use Li-ion so last longer on a charge and should also have a longer lifespan. The specs for each are listed on the Philips website.
This model has the minimum important features, ie full speed, proper battery, quad timer. Nothing fancy like different speeds etc, only what you need from an very day electric toothbrush.

Price point reflects this I guess :smiley: £18 per year to brush my teeth is alright! 2p per brush of the teeth, bargain!
This is absolutely fabulous toothbrush. Once you'll try it, you won't want to see oral b again.

Appears to have cheap replacement heads too - 8 for £8 which is cheaper than Oral B which seem to be 3 for £12!

if you talking about the ones from amazon they not official replacement heads. read reviews. Official ones are £9.99 for 4.

I'm a newbie into these. what's so good about these than a normal oral b brush or another brush which cost a couple of quid

Per the reviews/comments - Oral B have worse battery life, this seems to be better.
A normal brush (Ie not electric) do not clean teeth as well. It is widely agreed that an electric toothbrush gives the best clean.
Worth investing a bit on it to get one that will last :smiley:
