Very tempted by this! Anybody have experience with this tv or similar? Would it be fine for gaming and as a bedroom TV?

this deal has come up several times before, if you search for it will find extensive notes.
its a good cheap hdr set - slow to respond from remote, very average sound, poor upscaling of tv signal, images look soft and the sharpness setting just adds other issues however does seem to work very well as a gaming monitor, the lag isn't that bad and quality images 1080p and above look punchy, vibrant and have a lot of detail. I hadn't noticed any light bleed on mine under normal conditions although playing in dark have noticed 1 small bright spot when gaming in hdr. for the price I actually thought the black levels are pretty good, I have seen a lot worse.
can load a number of apps with it being an android set, for the money would recommend it but don't expect anything exceptional

So for someone that's going to use it as a PC monitor for day to day use with 1080p/4k video via download/Netflix , Kodi and Xbox One/PS4 with no normal TV/SD content this gets the thumbs up?
Currently using an LG 42LM615T with no problems but the Ambilight seems like a nice extra and I've fancied trying 4K out for a little while. Seems like for the price it's a steal.

I have it in my office connected to an xbox one and ps4 and have been quite pleased with its gaming performance - there is also a computer setting as well as a gaming setting but not tried it with a computer - with hdr on for gaming it also turn on image smoothing which you cant turn off but not noticed any issues - I have not had chance to mess with other settings using hdr but with gaming turned off but would expect it to increase the lag
the set does seem to require a wired connection to get the best from the download services, the tv does struggle to populate thumbnails but I know my way around them well so can find what I want without images. my advice would be to use the apps on the s4/xbox instead

Sounds like pretty much what I'm after then, wired is fine also as it's going to be right next to the router but obviously with it also being connected to a PC I don't need the smart functions too much.

I bought the 49 inch version of this TV after having an 8 year old Sony bravia this is a brilliant TV for the money. I watched star wars on it last night and the ambilight was awesome although had to tweak it between different settings to suit me. also I would recommend searching for correct picture settings on YouTube as out of the box the picture is too colourful. Haven't tried any hdr content as it is hard to come by at the moment. If someone wants a good smart TV that can do 4k and has nice touches such as ambilight I would recommend. If you are looking for a 10 bit panel with full hdr compatibility look for a uhd premium TV which will be starting at over £1000.

If HUKD is anything to go by, everyone seems to be waiting for Black Friday as if offers will be guaranteed & plentiful...I doubt it myself.

I bought this on the previous deal at £341.99 back in October. Great value, good picture, I find the remote and android is quite responsive and loaded Kodi. Sound is poor and I've connected Harmon Kardon speaker. The only downside is that I have to go into sound settings to control the volume as they're connected as headphones. I can take or leave the ambilight.
