Ok so i see these every year and ive never took the bite. Is this stuff just for sandwiches etc or part of a meal, or anything?

It's cured pig's leg, not cooked just aged for a very long time. It's definitely an acquired taste, very rubbery. It's supposed to be eaten on it's own or with bread as tapas, but I've bought a pizza with it on before by accident.
