Just as the folks would say on the Reddit in the PC areas...Just master race things ..this is the 1080p master race

I have a 4K 64EF950V OLED in my front room and a 55EC930V ( 1080p ) OLED in my bedroom. I have owned a new tv basically every year for the past 9 or so years and then faulty swaps etc on top of that, so thats lots of televisions. I also spent around 7 years working in a TV / Hifi shop. So I would like to think I have a pretty good knowledge of televisions and available tech.
Simply put, OLED is by *far* the best tv tech around it has perfect blacks, great motion and 180 degree viewing angles with no loss of quality at extreme angles.
I have recently bought a PS4 pro, I have a PC with a pretty powerful GTX1080 and I7 6700K so I am about as 4K ready as you can possibly be. 4K is a huge fad, nothing runs it, content which is not 4k gets scaled and running native resolutions even puts a lot of strain on high end PCs. Media boxes don't support 4K and streamed 4k is barely better than an original 1080p Bluray disk AND this is all at 65" at around 4 meters away.
On this basis, I would highly recommend this television ignore the fact it isn't 4k and enjoy one of the best pictures available for the price!

You would realise if it had been damaged in transit within the 12 months though surely?

What utter nonsense, current standard?? no chance! there is still very little 4k content around, and most people won't see the difference at 55" anyway
My first 4k TV was 55" and i mostly watched 1080i (and lower) broadcasts on it, blurays were of course 1080p
and Netlix doesn't have a massive amount of 4k stuff tbh, so i was barely seeing anything in 4k. What a waste!
There is 4k bluray now and it is ridden with DRM thanks to AACS 2.0, and little chance they will allow PC playback anytime soon, all helping to hamper sales and there are very few 4k broadcasts, will be a good few years yet before this becomes 'standard'.
The problem is people are spending 1k on a poor 4k TV, this TV will outshine most budget 4k LED TV's, it's as simple as that.
Also, they keep finding ways of making your TV obsolete, this time round it's HDR, what next Ultra HDR? then 8k, the technology moves much faster than the content.

C'mon people if u want 4k Oled you'd still have to spend twice as much.
This is a 1080p set, why drone on about 4k when it's not relevant to this deal?

It's not your fault if it gets damaged in transit.

does look like an excellent tv if you can live without 4k and hdr. And don't mind the 150 nits brightness.

I was looking at the warehouse deals one earlier today, listed at £825 with the £50 discount applied. Decided against it as warehouse deals are always a gamble. :man:

what im saying is when you unbox the TV you dont want any nasty surprises?? (cracked screen) then is all the bother of getting it send back

Maybe this may have value one day as vintage like they do for very old mainframe computers and cars . First generation 1080p Oled screen made by LG. Now all the boxes are 4k, what will you connect it with without hdmi 2.0, Hdr and hevc?

Urm, yeah, they don't make non-4k screen any more and all the other features are mandatorys.. New tech makes old obsolete overnight.
The colour reproduction on this more than compensates for the lack of 4K.

I have this TV, its absolutely amazing, i'm not joking when i tell you it beats virtually every 4k TV i've seen, everything is vibrant on it. The colours are to die for. It's simply 10/10 and a steal for this price.
