Customer service is based in Bangalore and generally awful. Last week I rung up and they hung up on me - I was flawlessly polite as always (I used to work in a call centre hence why) but the agent didn't understand what a DLM reset was and I assume her gut instinct was to slam the disconnect button - not something I'd ever do myself.
We also cancelled one of their engineer callouts on a separate call last week and he turned up :P. BT try to get away with the generic £130 charge for callouts if they can (sometimes even if its within their "we don't charge you for X" terms). He turned up anyway and did some awesome work but now its a case of seeing if the bill lands on our door mat.
But to answer your question - BT support is bad. You'll be made to jump through any and every hoop even if you've already tried resetting the BT Home Hub. The good news is the hour long calls are free.
Most of your woes will come from the free BT Home Hub itself. If you're lucky - BT support might get you there in the end.

This seems too good to be true! If you opt for the line rental saver, the discounts (cashback and mastercard) mean the monthly charge is something around £11.76pm. Unless I'm getting my calculations mixed up! Can anyone tell me what BT is like as an ISP compared to Plusnet (I know its the same company now)? ...and does the cashback always come through?

If you add the BT sports and starter TV for £2/month Quidco will jump up to £148 which means you're paying £8 for the year for BT Sports.
Zak_K
25 Nov 16#16
And if someone knows how to combine a cable.co.uk link with Quidco then this link gets you a £40 M&S card too:
Good luck with any of their promotions. They still owe me £125 Quidco for broadband, £60 Quidco for a sim contract and another £45 Amazon voucher. Just chech out their one star Quidco reviews (there are loads of them). When you complain, Quidco just give you the normal copy and paste answer and BT customer services is a joke.

I took out a broadband deal with BT and followed the correct procedure in claiming cashback (and it's the exact same way I've always done it) and they refused my claim with Quidco. So I just accepted it and moved on, but then 3 months later I added a BT sim only package onto my broadband and claimed Quidco for the BT sim card offer to guess what... be declined again.
If you do manage to get BT to track and ACTUALLY pay out then great, but personally I wouldn't go for this over another ISP, unless you really need the upload speed vs Virgin Media (who cap their upload speeds after 1 hour if you exceed their limit).
Moved from Virgin Media to BT I can honestly say they're a joke of a company and if you ever have any problems with them, then good luck getting it sorted.

Woeful. If you get through to them, they fire you between operators on the phone and they don't pass on the problems they are supposed to be dealing with, so you have to explain it over and over and over.

Got a similar BT deal a few weeks ago and was installed last week. Cashback from Topcashback has tracked as pending, says 7 weeks to pay out so we'll see. I've claimed the rewards card and had a confirmation email to say I should receive within 30 days.
Speed is as quoted and has been flawless so far. Hopefully I never have to deal with their customer services.
I took the free TV + BT Sport package (opted out of HD because i'm cheap). I'm sure on my purchase it was free for the whole 12 months, I seem to remember it saying to keep it free renew your contract on the 13th month.
EDIT: Actually while i'm here has anyone had issue getting Plex working on a PS4 using the HomeHub? I had the exact same PC+PS4 combination before so I can only assume it's the router that's causing it to say it can't connect. I've relinked the PS4 and I can see it under my devices on the PC. I've tried port forwarding and putting a DMZ on my PS4 but no luck. But yet Plex works on my Android phone.

About 2 years back I went with BT, not only did the quidco track but they also sent out 2 of the prepaid mastercards! Then, to make the deal even sweeter, they upped my bill about 6 months later meaning I got to leave the contract and take another £100 or so from talk talk for moving to them. Who also upped their bill within 6 months, I walked again and got another cashback from SSE this time. Unfortunately SSE don't seem to want to up my bill and it was an 18 month contract otherwise I'd be all over this.

That's where the positives end, worst customer service I have ever experienced, to the point where I ecen logged the poor service with ofcom. Guaranteed speed of 15Mb yet I got 13Mb. Took 3 months to get it sorted, engineers never booked despite being told they had been. Tried to change engineer appointments but they still turn up at the initial date set. 3 times they failed to call back, they hung up on me etc. Had to go through the complaints procedure and they were useless too. Argued that 13Mb is not the guaranteed speed they assured me of but they couldn't care less, got me barely up to 15Mb and told to deal with it, no compensation etc.

My experience with BT is probably typical of the customers whose service failed.
I ordered in September via topcashback, which tracked and was then declined.
They screwed up my order so I was without interent for 2 weeks.
They screwed up the transfer of my home phone number so we lost the number we have had for 20 years.
They screwed up the mobile phone bill.
The internet is fantastic when it works , but fails at least 2 or 3 times a day, compared with 2 or 3 times a year with sky / talktalk etc.
I spent 20 hours on the phone trying to sort the issues ( it's not so Good to Talk) and was promised the earth and received nothing.
In the end I emailed the CEO and recieved a reply very quickly and a personal customer care lady who has been brilliant in trying to resolve the issues and make things right.
