This is a double data deal that gives you 4GB instead of their usual 2GB.
A bit similar to what iD Mobile has but for those who prefer to be on EE network*.

Who uses a mobile network to call overseas directly anymore? There's WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, FaceTime etc. All free.

Just worth noting that if you put any of the mobile networks into TrustPilot you get the same story.
So they're either all as $$$ as each other, or it's those annoyed people who tend to leave reviews.
TBH, between the two options it's a tough call. I think I've fallen out with most networks over the past 20+ years due to their incompetence and failure to do what they said they'd do.

Plusnet Mobile = LIFE Mobile rebranded. LIFE went from being awesome a year ago to being awful in recent months - that was 3G though.

Maybe local variations, but I can still get about 20mbps on Life 3G as long as I am getting a decent signal level.

I signed up yesterday, if you are life mobile you can get unlimited minutes as well for £10. 4g for a tenner a month with a decent allowance. Their customer service yesterday was great, and even when it was life they were good for me. Got to be worth a punt,if it's bad it's only a 30 day contract.

I think this looks like a really good deal. Wonder if they'll do a discount for two sims for same household? Heat.

What is up with their international calling rates. Maybe once a month I would call Austria, but £1 a minute. wtf.

I got 2 sim's on 1 account, on live chat they said they could give me 20% off the 2nd sim. But when I rang up to order, the guy said that because I'd ordered the 1st sim through U switch which was discounted anyway, I wouldn't get the discount, but they did the 2nd sim at the price of the 1st. It was only the £6 one though, think normal price is £7.45, so 1000mins, 5k tx an 1.5gb data for 6 quid ain't bad I suppose. Although I bought an add on last month of 500mb which was £2 extra, but now it's plus net I've noticed it's £4! Now. Think I might just upgrade to the £10 deal.

anyone know if this is any good - was about to change kids sim's onto new Tesco deal for £11 but this has way more minutes.

Yeah all been good with me, good customer service and you can cap any over spend, they give you £5 buffer but you can lower it to a £1.

If you're with BT Broadband, BT Mobile's recurring deals with cashback and gift cards are regularly much better than this. I bought a couple of friends contracts for £8 per month with 4GB 4g data, 500 mins and unlimited texts which worked out at 11p per week after the kickbacks . I'm with Plusnet for broadband and these deals are new but really aren't that special. The only thing that is perhaps beneficial is the 30-day term.

A bit disappointed; spoke to them yesterday and I have to get a new contract for 4G rather than stay with the Life on for £5.95/month. As I hardly use data and the minutes are the same, it's not worth me switching. Having looked around the "introductory offer" is now about normal. I also expected a bit of a deal being a Plusnet customer.

giffgaff data speeds are terrible though so unless you want to change sims to call Austria its a massive drop even from Life's 3g, their speeds 15Mb GG 2Mb.
Just to add on Life we were with them with 3 sims, customer service was excellent in the main, 2 sims transferring of numbers took much longer than expected, one a week the other 5 days. They gave £5 credit to two of the sims, one because of the delay in moving the number, the other because a mast was down. Wouldn't give anything for the third sim. For us they were let down by EE coverage, their coverage checker said we were in a very good area but coverage was actually quite poor, many issues with no service and we don't live out in the sticks.
As said up to the end service was good, but the end was really bad, their PAC code team were terrible, the way they spoke to all 3 accounts was terrible and in one case just rude.

Go onto the website and look at the "deals" for BB customers- it's the same as for the non-BB customers, but they state that you are getting 2 x the data. Very misleading.

Do existing Life customers signing up for this have to receive a new sim or does it just change over?

New sim if you're still on 3G. If you already have 4G then it's just an account change.

I was with GiffGaff, but the 4G speeds were awful for months and they didn't care about fixing it, so I moved to life Mobile (now Plusnet Mobile), they were great, then within a few months it became crap, which is frustrating as they were owned as well as run by EE. I switched to BT's sim only deal, £45 cash back and £40 voucher on a £10/m deal (includes £5 discount as an existing BT customer). It worked out under £3 a month for 4GB/unlimited texts/500 mins.

Unless you live in or visit an area with poor 3G/4G coverage. A mobile signal is often received long before a decent data connection.

30 Nov 16#22
For me at least it's been as good as O2 (GiffGaff/Tesco/O2), the frustrating thing is they won't roll out wifi calling which would make it even better, at work I get poor signal because of the building (it's basically a bunker inside an old factory). The wifi coverage is great, you can hotspot on everyone daft enough to be running a BT HomeHub

Haha, 3rd month on EE, I thought about them exactly the same till I have tried them, the customer service/care is mixed bag, some operators are don't a f*ck but some are pro and chatty as I had issue with porting my number from LIFE and fixed instantly.
Looks like Plusnet will become BT's Genie online division and BT will rebrand EE shops as BT where costs will be slightly higher for face to face in 2017, cant see BT running a shop divison as EE, BT as call centres & Plusnet as online - too much cost in running 3 brands and cementing Plusnet by bringing Life into Plusnet, looks like BT Retail wil' exist again after almost 20 years, no way is BT away to rebrand a 1/3 of the group only https://www.ipo.gov.uk/tmcase/Results/1/UK00003185788

plummed for the mates rate deal as I'm already an happy plusnet broadband customer. unltd minutes texts and 8gb data, 30 day contract £15 per month. I have a spare phone to play with it for a month and then see how it goes before my current O2 contract expires. seems a good deal to me.

Those on life mobile sim only plusnet will be changing your t&cs in January 2017...probably taking away your minutes and data and increasing your bill...remember your in your rights to cancel your contract without any termination fees or any other fees if they increase your contract OR lower your minutes or data.

Easy to ditch & switch if that ends up being the case then. Though I really doubt they'd make such damning changes a month after launching.

Was considering switching to one of the mates rates Plusnet packages but it would only be for the 4G, I really don't need any more minutes or data. Think I'll stick it out and see what January brings. Just hope they don't increase the price annually like EE used to, now that was annoying!
Just found the new t&c's here looks like I spoke to soon
