I'm glad you gave a one sided argument. fortunately majority of the issues you face is user error.
Xbox one is louder than ps4 slim but ps4 slim is a newer model, xbox one s is a lot quieter. The xbox one dashboard is about 30% advertisements floated to the right with application ect 70% to the left.
You can pause downloads and click on something else to download first!
You can also choose to install/auto update whilst turned off or shut it completely down i configured mine to do the first.
Batteries? Really? majority of people buy battery backs anyway and i use batteries as they last longer than ps4 controllers and they are rechargeable so it's never an issue swapping them to put others on charge so we dont have to plug it in with a cable (like the ps4)
Im my opinion the ui on xbox is much easier to use than the playstation but who am i too judge.
If you or your friend need assistance using the console then just ask

Consider myself warned.
For any TCB and Flubit users you might want to consider the info from this thread I created tonight.
Folks, I have been watching BF1 online, both in live streams on Twitch and Youtube Gaming in the past 24 hours and also recorded lived streams on both sites, and I am very disappointed how blurry BF1 looks on the Xbox compared to the PS4.
Turns out that the Xbox plays BF1 at 720P as opposed to the PS4 which does it at 900P.
I have only ever owned Xboxes and wanted to buy the Xbox S purely for BF1 but, as of tonight, I am seriously reconsidering what to buy.
Don't take my word for it - go and have a look for yourselves.

Battlefield on Xbox is dynamic res going from 720p up too 1000p, also the PS4 version drops as low as 80p. I've been playing the game all week it's one of the best looking games on Xbox.

And that's why I'll be playing it on my PC:)

I wouldn't ever buy an Xbox One. A friend bought one yesterday and it's complete junk. Fan clicking noise so has to be sent back regardless but I can't get over how bad the OS is.
Redeemed the GoW4 code which started to download so thought we'd play Forza Horizon while we wait but that needed to install. Couldn't do that because GoW4 was 'installing' when it was actually downloading and there was no way to pause or reorder the queue. Rest mode to download in the background also isn't accessible if you prefer the 'energy-saving' system option, rather than just letting you pick and choose what you want to do like the PS4 does.
The menus being 80% adverts is shockingly bad, it's slow in general to move section or open the side bar and it just generally lacks quality. Even small things like the achievements page lacking any consistency in their images shows a lack of polish or care.
Having used both i'd go for a PS4 Slim every time. It's silent, has a snappy UI and a better controller that doesn't require AA batteries.

I played the BETA and I was not that impressed. It's nothing to do with how it looks, it is how it plays. It is too 'Battlefronty'. I much prefer, still play BF4 and that is 2 years old . Also stop being a PS4 fan boy. Good deal by the way Op.

Did you really just compare a YouTube/Twitch gameplay video to the actual game's graphics? Of course they're going to look inferior, they're being recorded for websites that have its video files compressed. I wouldn't really trust comparisons all that much anyway.

bf1 is a let down all round. yeah, it's not sharp at all on Xbox one...but that's the least of its problems. The framerate in mp is all over the place. it's also riddled with bugs and glitches at the moment. The single player starts off really well...the first mission uses a cool mechanic to give a sense of just how unforgiving war is, and it looks stunning. After that first mission though it settles for the uninspired, and bores quickly. Visuals also turn quite muddy.
The whole thing is rather boring tbh, and there's plenty far superior games out for the xboxone to make one worth the purchase and show it off in a more flattering way - forza horizon 3 for one.

Frame rate on Xbox one is fine you mean PS4 surely? Dropping to 2-3 fps there.
