I'm glad you gave a one sided argument. fortunately majority of the issues you face is user error.
Xbox one is louder than ps4 slim but ps4 slim is a newer model, xbox one s is a lot quieter. The xbox one dashboard is about 30% advertisements floated to the right with application ect 70% to the left.
You can pause downloads and click on something else to download first!
You can also choose to install/auto update whilst turned off or shut it completely down i configured mine to do the first.
Batteries? Really? majority of people buy battery backs anyway and i use batteries as they last longer than ps4 controllers and they are rechargeable so it's never an issue swapping them to put others on charge so we dont have to plug it in with a cable (like the ps4)
Im my opinion the ui on xbox is much easier to use than the playstation but who am i too judge.

BE CAREFUL,i ordered few weeks back the x files boxset from zavvi on bluray, one of the disk wont play so i contacted them using their message option. They told me to send the boxset and i will get a replacement.I went to the post office with the label they send me and the post office doesent recognise that type of label,i contacted them again through the message option(there is a telephone but it keep saying to log into their sites and send a message)and requested an email with more information to how to sent the boxset. They come back to me saying they will send a email confirmation when they receive the item.Clearly they didnt read the message.Anyway i send another message and they told me the new label should work.I went to a different post office and they told me the same story.I was willing to pay for the delivery but the persone couldnt find the address on their system.Anyway i contact them again,i send several email to their ceo,i found an email for zavvi, send more emails to the hut group and to the hut group enrolling department. In total between them all i send around 100 to 150 emails.I didnt receive no reply.I contact my bank because i pay with a credit card, now they dealing with it.I will post this message to every zavvi deals.Good luck to all.

Bickering over slight differences in resolution is pretty trivial when you consider both versions run like junk in the big game types, owing to their weak CPU's. In fact I wouldnt be surprised if XB1 runs better in 40 and 64 players games due to higher clock speeds.

Folks, I have been watching BF1 online, both in live streams on Twitch and Youtube Gaming in the past 24 hours and also recorded lived streams on both sites, and I am very disappointed how blurry BF1 looks on the Xbox compared to the PS4.
Turns out that the Xbox plays BF1 at 720P as opposed to the PS4 which does it at 900P.
I have only ever owned Xboxes and wanted to buy the Xbox S purely for BF1 but, as of tonight, I am seriously reconsidering what to buy.
Don't take my word for it - go and have a look for yourselves.

I wouldn't ever buy an Xbox One. A friend bought one yesterday and it's complete junk. Fan clicking noise so has to be sent back regardless but I can't get over how bad the OS is.
Redeemed the GoW4 code which started to download so thought we'd play Forza Horizon while we wait but that needed to install. Couldn't do that because GoW4 was 'installing' when it was actually downloading and there was no way to pause or reorder the queue. Rest mode to download in the background also isn't accessible if you prefer the 'energy-saving' system option, rather than just letting you pick and choose what you want to do like the PS4 does.
The menus being 80% adverts is shockingly bad, it's slow in general to move section or open the side bar and it just generally lacks quality. Even small things like the achievements page lacking any consistency in their images shows a lack of polish or care.
Having used both i'd go for a PS4 Slim every time. It's silent, has a snappy UI and a better controller that doesn't require AA batteries.

Did you really just compare a YouTube/Twitch gameplay video to the actual game's graphics? Of course they're going to look inferior, they're being recorded for websites that have its video files compressed. I wouldn't really trust comparisons all that much anyway.

The ps4 sounds like a jet afterburner and the xbox one s sounds like a hyperactive grandfather clock ticking for all it's life is worth. Both sound awful and am currently trying to sort a replacement one s and have no idea what to do about the ps4. Dunno whether to try a slim or just wait for a deal on the pro.
The fact neither seem to be able to create hardware that doesn't simply work without some sort of physical issue is frankly laughable at this point.

Yes, I watched that BUT it is not gameplay. It is either just showing the different promo videos or just a person standing still in single payer mode.
The problem seems to be when you are playing the game and everything is moving. It is as if the quality of the rendering degrades in order to cope with all the processing that is going on re loads of players, moving through the landscape, etc.
FWIIW, I just checked some BF1 forums and there are lots of people posting about it now asking why the game is so blurred. There are even PS4 users asking about it such as the comment below:

Not trying to prove anything. Merely pointing out what is obvious for anyone with an open mind to see from the video evidence that is on youtube. If you cannot see it then, well, that is you. But if this helps others to investigate and judge for themselves then it has a purpose.
I will say it again - I was planning and looking forward to buying an Xbox S at midnight tomorrow with a nice new copy of BF1 bundled with it. I almost ordered the early enlister bundle this week from Simply Games.

bf1 is a let down all round. yeah, it's not sharp at all on Xbox one...but that's the least of its problems. The framerate in mp is all over the place. it's also riddled with bugs and glitches at the moment. The single player starts off really well...the first mission uses a cool mechanic to give a sense of just how unforgiving war is, and it looks stunning. After that first mission though it settles for the uninspired, and bores quickly. Visuals also turn quite muddy.
The whole thing is rather boring tbh, and there's plenty far superior games out for the xboxone to make one worth the purchase and show it off in a more flattering way - forza horizon 3 for one.

Of course you can't in energy saving mode, because you are SAVING ENERGY, and therefore sacrificing some features to SAVE ENERGY, hence ENERGY SAVING (jeez)
The menu literally has like 3 small adverts on the right hand side, and one of them is for Games with Gold which gives you free, decent standard games, so I really wouldn't complain
The side bar is easily accessed and games auto pause when you just press the middle Home button
I'm not trying to fanboy the Xbox here, I just get frustrated when people chat utter nonsense, about half of what you said is completely untrue, and the other half is you not knowing how to work an Xbox
PS has some pros over Xbox, I admit that e.g. higher resolution on many games, but Xbox has ALWAYS been king of online (Gold is miles better than PS+ in my opinion) and the OS in the Xbox One is very easily navigated

The only ads on the home page are generally showing you deals with gold, they're tucked in little boxes on the right of the screen and not very intrusive at all. These are the only ads I see...and easily comparable to the ps4 desktop ads. The other menus (store tab etc)dont have ads but have tabs showing pictures of the movies/TV shows and games that are out...unless you're classing those as ads? Again, only what ps4 does only you have to open and wait for the store to load first.
The Xbox os ive found super fast and responsive...I think people get a little overwhelmed at first because everything is out in the open as opposed to the ps4 Where all this is hidden in the store app. But navigating through the ps4 store and navigating through the same menus on the Xbox one the Xbox os is clearly superior.
I've an original Xbox one and it's silent...in all honesty probably the quietist console I've ever owned...and I have pretty much all of them. My ps4 sounds like a jet sometimes.

Here's a couple of videos just randomly taken from youtube. In the first - the Xbox one - you can see the lack of detail compared to the below PS4 video.
You can also see that when the player begins to run the Xbox seems to just give up rendering any detail in the surrounding landscape and it just blurs - motion blur people seem to be calling it. There is also a kind of grey fog - not the smoke which is part of the game - across the screen generally as if it is slightly out of focus. If that was a broadcast TV image it would be called soft.
Your TV isn't going to reprogram the game to run at a higher native resolution...that's not how it works. If the textures don't look a bit blurry to you then maybe everything does and you should think about getting your eyes checked? The human eye is supposed to see the difference between 720, 900, 1080p resolutions...
Snakeyes646
20 Oct 161#39
Your going hard mode at this? Have you seen the game run in the flesh lad? Looks stunning on Xbox one and PC anyway and can't see it being any different on PS4, Xbox is leading console for EA also so can't see them doing anything to make Xbox version lacklustre.

20 Oct 161#38
Just hold it up to your kinect...gawd.
No, the Xbox ui can be a little overwhelming at first if you're used to the more simple bare bones look of the ps4. But the Xbox os is far superior I think. Once you're used to it you'll find you can find things faster...redeem a code is a case of clicking the left bumper 3 times so you're under the store tab and selecting 'use a code'...where as on the ps4 you're waiting for the store to load up first. Turning the Xbox off is a case of holding down the Xbox button and selecting turn off...where as you have to go through menus first with ps4. Xbox being always on (select the feature) makes everything snappy from the start as you're signed instantly in.
Download times are faster on the xboxone too. And you can indeed prioritise downloads.

I have never ever played a PS4 in my life. So stop the fanboy comments as they are just nonsense. This is not about the console but about how the game looks on the console.
Side by side comparision here - comments below video says it all:
Look at this one from an early edition video that someone has loaded up to youtube - it looks as if someone has smeared some vaseline across the screen. It would be certainly called 'soft' if that was a Broadcast TV image. It is certainly not sharp.
All the wonderful crispness and detail that we have seen in the promo videos is simply not there.
I got to admit that I am very disappointed. I had planned some great midnight charge tomorrow night to Game or Smyths or wherever to pick up an Xbox S and BF1 to replace my Xbox 360 and my BF3.

I've an original Xbox one and it's silent...in all honesty probably the quietist console I've ever owned...and I have pretty much all of them. My ps4 sounds like a jet sometimes.
I think something may have been faulty with your friends Xbox tbh
You can also see that when the player begins to run the Xbox seems to just give up rendering any detail in the surrounding landscape and it just blurs - motion blur people seem to be calling it. There is also a kind of grey fog - not the smoke which is part of the game - across the screen generally as if it is slightly out of focus. If that was a broadcast TV image it would be called soft.

Side by side comparision here - comments below video says it all:

Edit:
Nah, it has the same softness and lack of detail/crispness throughout.

If you or your friend need assistance using the console then just ask
I did some more investigating again last night - watching live streams - and the game does look great on the PS4 but I felt as if my eyes had gone out of focus watching some of the Xbox videos of it. I was fully intending to buy a new Xbox with BF1 tomorrow night just to play it but not any longer.
