is this any good? heard of it but never really looked at the game itself, does this play well as single player camping or is it online only, looks like halo type. I am looking for some new games to play, also got my eyes on the new forza, was looking forward to playing mafia 3 but review are not that great. choices, choices...

I'll just have a wait for someone to come along and ask you if you've heard of google or metacritic....Stand by.

I didn't like the demo at launch, but I bought this last week and it's brilliant fun. It's an action FPS, but you're constantly upgrading your gear. I normally play solo, but it's viable for single or multiplayer in teams. The raids and strikes are team based.
Definitely worth the price.
Also, it gives you a level 40 boost (straight to end game level), and a level 25 boost. I'm working my way through from scratch, and will use those on alternative characters.

Its perfectly playable as a single player, that's how I play cus I'm 32 and none of my mates play PlayStation anymore. There is a hell of a lot of content to go at if your starting from scratch. Most multiplayer content has matchmaking, so it will just pair you with a fireteam; most missions dont require much cooperation, and no one chats. You only need to team up for Nightfall Strikes (The hardest standard missions), Raids (End game, multistage co-op missions), Some Prison of Elders (Horde mode) and Trials of Osiris (Team deathmatch thing..have never played), you can use Looking for Group (LFG) websites to find a team but I gave on on them, as I got sick of listening to mouthy Yanks. Get the game, you won't regret it, it is the most enjoyable FPS I've ever played.

ugh, it's a double edged sword.
If you were on board with them from the start, buying new DLC as it came out etc, then they kinda fleeced you and they should not be rewarded for you incrementally giving them your money.
However, that game and price as it stands for ALL the content, is pretty good. I've been a casual player since the start and recently got back on for the Taken King expansion. I play almost exclusively single player and so far I'm enjoying playing story missions which make no sense, but theres a nice sense of reward to gameplay. always a gun or some armour to level up. People go wild for raids but I haven't done any (I think, could be missing a trick there).
But yeah, decent amount of content for that price if you're brand new to it.

I already watched a few videos, looks more like halo, which i didn't like, just getting users opinion on here to tell me if its worth buying over other games that are out at the moment.

Much, much better than Halo imho.

I wasn't meaning to criticise your post at all - merely getting in there before the usual level of helpfulness that some on here are displaying these days. I like reading opinions on here too but it sounds like you can already make your mind up on this game from what you've said about it so far. One thing I would say about this game is for the amount of money it had thrown at it, the collision detection is pathetic. I could be accused of being a graphics snob - or else I don't tend to feel a great sense of realism when I'm standing right through the middle of someone. But if you don't mind that kind of issue and you like Halo then try it. Although I'd wait for this to drop a bit to say £20.

Well, one of the best addictive games around. I dont think there are better games in this genre than destiny.
And you have got to get on now coz by the time it goes below £20 most people would have finished playing it anyway.

This is getting like a greatest hits album where you can bring out a slightly newer version each year because you have a new song. I have the previous "greatest hits" album that included that chart topper, "The Taken King". Is it possible to just buy Rise of Iron from the store and if so, how much? Sorry for being lazy and not checking myself, but I'm lazy.
