Are you having trouble falling asleep? Are your kids hyperactive when playing with the tablet before bed time?
Are you using your smart phone or tablet in the late evening? Twilight may be a solution for you!
Recent research suggests that exposure to blue light before sleep may distort your natural (circadian) rhythm and cause inability to fall asleep.
The cause is the photoreceptor in your eyes, called Melanopsin. This receptor is sensitive to a narrow band of blue light in the 460-480nm range which may suppress Melatonin production - a hormone responsible for your healthy sleep-wake cycles.
In experimental scientific studies it has been shown an average person reading on a tablet or smart phone for a couple of hours before bed time may find their sleep delayed by about an hour.
The Twilight app makes your device screen adapt to the time of the day. It filters the blue spectrum on your phone or tablet after sunset and protects your eyes with a soft and pleasant red filter. The filter intensity is smoothly adjusted to the sun cycle based on your local sunset and sunrise times.
PRO features

it's a sad world when we have to consider using apps like this to ensure our kids get a good night's sleep. I'm in support of this kind of thing and I'm voting hot....but I remember reading my kids bedtime stories instead of allowing themselves to become fixated on a 10" screen :disappointed:

It's 'You're', by the way, not 'your'. Did you mean 'have any'? :stuck_out_tongue: If this is what you teach your kids about spelling and grammar, perhaps it's not us who failed? Just saying.
You are free and easy with the sweeping statements and judgements about complete strangers. Thanks for your valuable (but incorrect) opinion, much appreciated

thats why you root yoyr phone and use cf lumen instead, it works as f.lux for pc and doesnt interfere with functionality of your system at all. Twilight is just red overlay...

I agree, chill out, relax and get them to read to ready them for sleep, but I think if they or I use something like this on the tablet or pc before bedtime it will probably help, I use f.lux on the pc and I don't use the pc at night without it on.

Our little one (just turned two) loves his books and happily e.g. turns pages and will start singing nursery rhymes according to what's on that page.
Too many parents these days just stick YouTube on a phone or tablet in front of their kids and wonder why they get the "zombie stare".. :smirk:

Fortunately there are still those of us who do read bedtime stories, but I'm otherwise much in agreement with you.

Not saying this isn't a good deal, but isn't this feature built into Android nowadays?

Not sure. I have marshmallow on my s7 edge. I don't know of any settings that allow this. Nougat might though, unless I'm havering.

It is built into iOS but something like f.lux for Android requires rooting to install, so this might be a decent alternative for not much money.

MIUI on my Redmi note 2 had it, so does the custom Cyanogenmod for it, so i just assumed it was widespread in Android.
I guess not
